DS wants to use the potty, I'm not "ready"!

DS (2 yrs 4 months) has been ill for a few days with a tummy bug, but since feeling better has started to tell me when "a wee is nearly ready to come out" and then asking to do it on the potty. I bought a potty ages ago and its been around but no pressure to use it. I also bought some specail big boys pants as I had an idea to put him in them outside in the summer but although he chose them he never liked the idea of wearing them. He seems happy in his nappy but doing everything in his potty but we haven't been out for a week and I feel like I'm going crazy. I know this sounds daft but where do I go from here? We've had no wet nappies for 3 days except at night, and no poo accidents, although I am wondering if hes holding them in as he hasn't pooed much at all. Also have no car so am ay mercy of public transport.... do I need to carry a whopping great potty about with me, or stay in for another week?

Just go for it! Weather is ok, take some spare clothes. Use every toilet you find...

Do pants at home, and pad them or use a nappy when out. Hopefully the weather's still good to whip his willy out and pee on the daisies if necessary.
