hi all,

had a lollipop nappy adviser round last night to look and play with a few types before we buy any. has anyone used lollipop nappies before and how did you get on with them?

DD is in some on my lap as I type We use the fleece ones. Don't have much to compare them to and haven't been using them for long but they seem fine so far and dry really quickly (much faster than the Sandy's we've also been using). No leaks yet but DD is only 4 weeks, so might not have peaked poo-wise!

PS we use Motherease wraps

They're quite good actually (not sure why I have made that sounds as though I'm surprised )

Which ones did you like? I have used them all and have one of each in my trial kits so I have a fair idea of how other mums find them too.

The softee is very popular for newborns but a bit bulky for older babies who are more likely to wear trousers. I prefer the totsbots fluffle but probably only because of the fleece lining and nippa option

The Bamboo is lovely - far, far better than a bamboozle - I like the cut of 'em.

The microfleece is OK. I personally find it way too bulky for the amount of absorbancy you get and most other mums who tried it agreed but it does a grear job of keeping bottoms dry.

The organic is noce too - again, I like the cut far better than a totsbots.

The pocket is quite reliable. I sometomes use one at night for DD2 (stuffed with a bamboo terry) and it does a good job. I'm not a huge fan of pocket nappies with fleece over PUL because it really os just excess bulk only there to make the nappy look cute but I do like this one - looks nice under a dress or you can just have that on and nothing else in the summer. I prefer it to the minki nappies which are similar but pockets are a very personal thing.

Their terry squares are better than boots / mothercare own - hold their shape better and slightly thicker I think.

I would always recommend a motherease wrap instead of most other brands though so maybe avoid the lollipop ones - I didn't like them at all.

All my nappies have coped well with repeated washing and abuse so they must be well made

hth

excuse typos - ds is bf as I type and I think he has a fang coming through

I've used the microfleece ones and the softees and was very impressed having only used natural fibres or pocket nappies before. We had the fleece ones on with no wrap in the summer and they were doing a very good job on their own. They surprised me the most tbh.

I'd like to try their bamboo or cotton ones.

I definately didn't like the lollipop wraps, but I had large ones for my DD who was only just into the large size and they seemed really bulky. The material is hard and crunkly as well, not soft like motherease or the tots flexiwraps.

I had bamboo and quite likes them but they come sized so was out of them in 4 months - was bummed as it was a sizeable investment. now using bum genious 3.0 which come sized from birth. i like them just as much if not more - do yourself a favour and just get these from the start!

I tried the BTP all-in-ones and the elastic around the legs failed after only 9 months of use. Because they had been bought more than a year earlier, the company lollipop would do nothing. A pretty shoddy product in my opinion, and a pretty shoddy company too :(

I bought 15 of the all in one Lollipop Pop'n'Grow nappies, and I wish I hadn't. They are really poor. They leak from around the legs, as that is where they have only single layer of fabric. They are also bulky on young babies. I've tried to use them since the birth of my baby, and she is now 9 months, and they are still no good as they leak.
I rang Lollipop and they wouldn't do anything. Just said that the nappies are tried and tested to work and said that I haven't washed them enough (which I have!).
I've swapped to Bumgenious. They are great.
