stck it out or give it up??????

dd 2.5 seems to be able to 'know' when she needs to go but will not use a potty or a toilet.

she hides in the cupboard for a pooh and gets into bed for a wee. do i just give up and wait or do i stick it out???? i didn't want to keep chopping and changing between knickers and nappies but is she just not ready or is she being subborn ?(no idea where she would get from ) or does she just need some gentle pursuasion (sp)??

praise when sitting on potty make huge fuss etc if this doesnt work she's not ready just have nappies and make a habit of sitting her on potty when changing nappy

at home leave no nappy on and sit her on potty every 30 mins or so

my ds is 3.5 and still doesnt poo on toilet or potty has done but gets very distressed

you need to be guiding them alot and not expecting them to automatically sit on potty

if still no luck try again in few months ds done it over night vertually after 3 but did leave with no nappy at home from 2.5 and he did learn to just go to potty but i had to guide for few weeks looking for signs of him weeing sitting onto potty and making huge fuss when weed if weed else where i would go sit him on the potty and say we wee wee on the potty but not get cross for the accident otherwise it becomes a negative eperience

thanks ...... ds was a nightmare but he never soiled himself - dd like i said runs to hide...i'm really not sure what to do. I grt thr idea she knows she needs to go as she always gets to the appropriate hiding place for what ever she is doing.......

ps do you mean bare bummed at home or pants on?
