Bumgenius V3 leaks - help!

I've been using BG V3 on my 9 week old, 12lb son since coming home from hospital and generally love them but we're really struggling with leaks/ wicking around the edges. We are using the larger booster that comes with them and a bioliner on top but find that where the fleece joins the waterproof layer we are getting wicking and his clothes are getting wet on his lower back and legs. We're currently using wraps over the top but this clearly defeats the purpose! Am feeling a bit annoyed as I initially loved them and want to continue my love affair!

What have others found? I'm aware they're not going to last overnight and try to change regularly in the day - how often do you change? and do you stuff with anything else?

Thanks

ps what's good overnight? have tried bumhuggers but don't really like using 2 different nappy systems - would prefer something similar to BG

There's not any of the liner sticking out?

Not sure what's happening. I have a couple and they've been great for us.

Someone mentioned recently having theirs ruined by an accidental fabric softener incident. Could that have happened to yours?

No real leakage problems (better than disposables) except when I've not changed him for a while . Mine usually last 3 hours for my 6mo.

One thing I've found is partic with the back that you need to check that the elastic is lying right - sometimes a bit of the white is poking out. Also, are you tying them snug enough? Final thought - I had to move my DS (tall for his age) up to the second set of poppers quite quickly. Maybe try that and see if it helps.

Squarah I have also had some problems with leaks with the v.3 - mostly it is poo though to be honest and that seems to come through the stitching round the legs, which is nice.

I only have trouble with wee leaks when the stuffing has got sodden so it just starts coming out - could that be the problem? Generally I use both of the inserts with mine, and for extra absorbancy - in the morning for example where DS is a wee monster - I often use a terry type insert with a microfibre one.

Also I don't use liners with mine as I wasn't too keen on the way the paper ones stuck to DS's bits, and to be honest I don't think you really need them - everything just washes off - but each to their own I guess

Overnight I use a well stuffed bumble and a Motherease wrap - ridiculously massive nappy but no leaks yet despite a 12 hour shift and the fleece inner means DS doesn't suffer.

I think it's mostly it being sodden [bad mother emoticon] - I'll try with next popper setting and both boosters. The liner isn't sticking out and no fabric conditioning has occurred as far as I know. HolidaysQueen I agree about the white bit showing but how do you get it not to be exposed at the edges at all - do you fold it over on itself?

Thanks for everyone's suggestions.

There's always a little bit of white showing but sometimes there's a lot more showing if it's not lying right. Difficult to describe but I sort of just run my finger round the back and the legs to get it to lie correctly.

Mine always wick around the legs if I've left him much longer than 3 hours, usually because I've forgotten when I last changed him . I think boys in particular can be heavy wetters - guess we both have DSes that fall into that category!

Yes and mine just did a particularly fine open-air one as I was just getting him weighed! Went everywhere.
