Bucket of sand and fill with (wrapped!) choc coins, they have to dig 'em out

Make the scurvy crew walk the plank (well a length of wood if you've got one, on lawn. INflatable crocs an asset)

A pin up of Johnny Depp may be appreciated by teh mums

Pin the parrot on the pirate?!

Isn't there a game when you say 'Climb the rigging!' and they have to pretend to climb, 'Scrub the decks' (get down and scrub), 'Captain on board!' (salute), 'Hoist the mainsail!' etc - I can't remember how you decide who wins (perhaps its like Simon Says where if you don't say a catchphrase and they do the action they're out?) but basically its just an excuse to wear them out!

Play chase but where the person who's 'it' is a shark?!

Good luck!!

some more here

Or make potato "boats"

Jacket spuds, cut in half, lots of fillings and some skull and crossbone/fairy flags. Dc's make their own potato boats and choose their filling and put their flag in it and eat them (hopefully)

www.crafts4parties.co.uk has some great reasonably priced pirate party stuff.

Captain says/parrot says - don't do what a parrot tells you! (simon says)

I did a treasure hunt through house, with picture messages in wine bottles as clues.

pin the parrot on pirate, flag on treasue.

Hide the treasure (in circle try to quietly pas keys to each other behind back, one in middle has to guess where treasure is when you say stop)

We built a boat in garden out of cardboard boxes that went down very well.

sandpit and treasure.

Make your own flag craft.

sharks and pirates team chasing.

Food - pizza islands (little circular pizzas)
Popeye pie (spinach and feta - mainly for adults!)
Treasure chest cake.
Treasure pockets (filled pittas)
Fishy shells - tuna pasta (conchy) salad.

RUM - fruit punch (with alcohol versoin for adults)
