i need some help with a topic for disertation...can anyone help?!!!

ive finally got into final year, and i had a topic which i wanted to do ( studying gangs) but my tutor said i wouldnt get throughj ethics!
so now im back to square 1 and need some help can be any topic really , just have to relate it to psychology...even if anyone knows where i can get some suggestions!

Family life / parenting? I am currently doing my final OU course (DD308). Did the Child Psychology course ED209 and found it really interesting, especially being a parent. There is so much research on attachment theory, affects of early years childcare etc. Just doing my final project for this year's course and am writing about the effects of reality TV parenting programmes like Supernanny. I could write a whole book!

What sort of psychology?

Have done three projects with OU. Two cognitive (and experimental), one social (discourse analysis).

Do gangs but call it "peer cultures" or something. You could look at identity, friendship, peer-2-peer conflict, Constructions of childhood or adolescence.

Assuming as you have to get ethical approval you actually have to do a study yourself, with participants.

yes i have to do the whole thing myself...hadnt really thought of doing parenting and it was looking at me the whole time!
reason behind the gang one was the area i live in and the things that go on all around me! and the realisation that i grew up in in and never even noticed...plus my Ds will grow up here too!

i am currently in the middle of emailing my tutor with more titltes...hopefully he will say yes you are onto something with at least on e of them!
