Does anyone pad their playpen?

We've just put ours up in advance of our LO crawling. In 5 minutes she's banged her head on it three times (falling backwards from sitting). When they are crawling to they have neough muscle control not to do this, do I have to pad it with something, or am I just going to have to get used to her banging her head?

What sort of playpen do you have? I assume it's wooden? I had one with a metal (padded) frame and netting surround. I didn't need to pad that. I think if you have a wooden one and she's bashing herself on it, you could certainly think about padding it a bit.

I put extra padding underneath (we have hard flooring, no carpets) so if they every fell from sitting they would be okay, those mats are quite flimsly really.

She managed to catch the bars each time.
