A duvet...it's a bus apparently!

Smithagain · 17/09/2008 21:07

water, water and more water - bath toys would be a hit with her on the cheapo side

cooking stuff - role play or child-size real utensils

anything belonging to her big sister, especially if sister is at school

painting & drawing

another vote for the Fifi watering can house - our friends have one and she always makes a beeline for it. In fact any sort of dolls house/miniature world type thing

bodiddly · 17/09/2008 21:10

colouring, drawing, puzzles, playmobil, animals/dinosaurs ... play doh

squeaver · 17/09/2008 21:11

Things she plays with pretty much every day:

Her artbox - painting, colouring, sticking

Dolls house

Jigsaws

Picnic stuff - food, plates etc

Lots of putting things in bags to go on complicated trips with imaginary friends. Bags of any sort are great for 3yo girls

Another vote for the Orchard games - my stand-by birthday present for either sex

minorbird · 17/09/2008 21:42

Duplo, brats/barbies, my little ponys, toy kitchen, make up, dress up clothes, colouring, playdough.

bodiddly · 17/09/2008 21:45

ConnorTraceptive · 17/09/2008 22:17

Thomas the tank train set
Cars
Arts and crafts of any form
Dress up
work bench
Keyboard

PinkTulips · 17/09/2008 22:36

milllions of toy cars
anything that makes annoying noises
barbies... but only naked ones, the clothes seem to upset her
bits of string, cardboard, empty containers and leaves
her dinner and any liquid within reach
mud and sticks
bricks (duplo type stuff we bought in lidl)
peppa pig train, car and boat
little fisher price men that were handed down from me as a kid that came with farm and circus train playsets
she can spend ages with a toy catalogue... like literally hours!
dolls house we got cheap for xmas last year
wooden train set
toy kitchen and shop

not sure that helps! we have lots of other stuff and she goes through phases, this is what she plays with at the moment.

pens and paper

a snapping crocodile grabber thing we got from the zoo for £1.50. We've had so much milage from all 3 of them with all 3 dc I'm buying up the lot next time we go as they'll keep us going in presents for parties for ever

solidgoldbrass · 17/09/2008 22:45

Bricks, cars, crayons, books - and another vote for wooden trains (Chad Valley very reasonably priced and compatible with the expensive ELC thomas stuff).

My DS (just about to turn 4) is currently loving his vinyl streetmap playmat - it's one of those with a printed layout of roads, duckpond, school, fire station, originally came in a box with 3 toy cars but all the toy cars can be used on it.
Stickers and paper/card to stick them on.
