just started using reusable nappies for my 18mo, would I be better sticking to disp for nights?

Also, where could I get some more popper fastening ones (not sure what brand the ones I have are, they were given to me by a MNer & labels are faded) which are not too expensive but are fairly absorbent as she's a heavy wetter. Also, in funky bright colours? Although the colours don't really matter

I would get your days sorted and an idea of her wettyness before upping the stakes to nightimes - that said a few boosters and it could be job sorted depending on what your using.....

I'd agree with knickers about the fluffles (size 2 are avail.2nd hand on here quite a lot & wear v.well esp if only used at night). I alternate huggles with fluffles. Or the bambinex teddies might be a similar absorbency at night, I saw some on the reusable nappy board this week.

Fluffles are the best microfibre nappies for night IMO because they are fleece lined. DS uses his nippa fluffle at night sometimes.

DD2 has popper fit Ellas House bumhuggers at night. They are very absorbant, fully fleece lined and have a pocket for extra stuffing if you need it. They are hemp though so take a while to dry. I much prefer them over huggles which were too bulky and not absorbant enough for us (and went crunchy ).

Airflow wraps over both btw.

Yup, huggles would go pretty crunchy (I stick mine in a drier for 20 mins first shame on me)...Fluffles do come with poppers but tbh they're a pain to do as the fluff gets in the way - much better with a nippa. But you were looking for popper fastening for day rather than night, weren't you? I like wonderoos, and they def. come in funky colours but they don't work for everyone or all babies of course (like anything!).

Add Motherease Sandy's to your list - really absorbant popper-fit nappies which are easy to use as a pull up once you get the hang of 'em. Take a while to dry but really good nsppies.

I've gone through this with ds2 and gave up completely on nippa nappies for a while, only used pockets. But I don't actually find wonderoos or fuzzi bunz particularly easy to use as pullups, the inserts keep riding up and they don't fit right. Sandies are good (although of course you have to then do the airflow as a pullup too) but the booster (assuming you use one) can also get bunched up. BBM, any ideas there? Best IMO were bumgenius with the velcro but then he grew out of them at 15 months I think & doesn't look like he'll grow back into them!

My ds (21 mo) has now decided that nappies are fab and fascinating, so don't have problems with anything now although in the last week I've had to give up on cloth as I have spd & expecting twins any day so just can't bend over to flush them in the loo!

why ? ds never able to undo his bg's, quite different from a sposie. I do have a stash of newborn stuff for the dt's, in fact the nappy pile in my house is quite ridiculous as ds2's is under his cot and there's 2 drawers of it in the dt's nursery. But never used cloth on ds2 until he was 4 months, so who knows.

accessorizequeen - cloth really comes into it'a own with newborns and young babies IMO. For me it just felt like the right thing to do (nice soft nappy instead of papery thing) and no leaks - woohoo! I've used Wonderoos as a pull-up a fair bit and found it best to grab the insert at the front and back and hoist - not so easy with my fuzzis because the insert isn't as long. I haven't used Sandy's as a pull up with a booster but I know someone who does and she told me the trick is to not have the legs done up too tightly. Good luck with the DTs

Lucysmam My bf can put a velcro fit little lamb plus aplix wrap on her DD as she walks around the room! I have to say I'm impressed but it shows it can be done I guess . She can also knock up a fab pair of trews to easily rival any 'cut 4 cloth' offering in 30 mins . I moved over to pockets when DD2 turned wriggly escapologist on me but I went back to 2 parters when she calmed down again. Sometimes it is a fleeting phase - unfortunately it wasn't for DD2...arrgghhh!

I just have visions of her being able to unfasten velcro like she can disposables, accessorise.

I don't think it's a phase, the wiggly thing, tbh. Think that she's about ready for potty training as she has started telling us when she's pooed but not when she's wet. So I may not need to invest in any more just yet in that case. Having said that, I am going to save for some for when we have another as they've been soooo much better for her nappy rash which she's been getting quite badly recently & you're right about them being softer BigBadMousey

Quite like the look of the wonderoos, probably something to do with my love of all things bright and colourful & also liked the look of Blueberry pocket nappies I think they were. Might order one of each to have a go with & see what they're like for my lo

Phaps they can all undo everything, it's just a question of whether they're interested. Cannot believe that ds2 could ever undo an airflow as I struggle with them sometimes!

Blueberries v.nice although I didn't find them v.absorbent and he outgrew the large within a month or two, depends on the chunkiness of legs & tummy I should think. They're v.pricey, but so cuddly on

Thanks for the advice BBM, I do really want to use the cloth (esp the lovely bimble I got the other week, I really like them) on the dt's, dp bought 2 huge packs of pampers yesterday and I just felt a bit cr*p looking at them really.

Maybe you're right about them all being able to unfasten everything accessorize, my lo can even undo zips! Which I didn't know until I found my empty handbag the other morning & had to hunt for random tampax n lippys that live in there

I have ordered one of each to give a go and see how we get on
