FAO babies everywhere- part-time EC over enthusicastic dd

ok, so we do kind of part-time ec- dd in nappies but put on potty at changes etc. Have been thinking about introducing a sign for needing potty for dd (12 months) but she seems to have decided that she will just grunt instead. only problem is that as soon as you say- do you need a wee or poo, she grunts, every time. even if ds goes to toilet, she does it. i think she just thinks it is fun now. i obviously don't want to rush off to toilet every 10 miutes as i know she doesn't actually need. how do i work out when she really means it?!
