Depends on how strict they are, but many are vegetarian. Can you ask them beforehand? I think gelatin is also off the menu.

I think Muslims can eat Halal (?) meat.
Best to stick to veggie, maybe.

No alcohol! My sister lives in a very Muslin country and they are big into lamb...so not sure about the veggie thing. I would have thought they would say if they are vegetarian. You'll need to check ingredients carefully if you use things out of tins/ packets as they may contain bits and bobs of pork. How about macaroni cheese? Or Tomato-ey pasta with roasted veg?

choufleur · 23/08/2008 19:04

some eat hala meat but quite a few muslim are veggie so i'd go for that to be on the safe side.

MerryMarigold · 23/08/2008 19:05

Oh yes, halal of course!

chapstickchick · 23/08/2008 19:05

just no pork, i would have thought.

SlartyBartFast · 23/08/2008 19:08

they would also eat helal chicken but veggie seems to be sensible.

janeite · 23/08/2008 19:10

No meat at all unless it's halal - so veggie seems the safest option, especially if you already know that she likes macoroni cheese.

Otherwise something like baked potatoes, salad and a selection of toppings such as coleslaw, tuna, cheese etc. That way they can pick what they like!

ruddynorah · 23/08/2008 19:13

yes go veggie. any meat would have to be halal so many muslims go veggie when they're not sure if the meat is halal. having said that though, some muslims aren't that fussed.
