  • My dd says 'Thank you' about 500 times a day.
- Today she told me I was 'so beautiful'. - She never wees in her pants. - Dh was just complaining that his todger was sore from too much how's-your-father.

All true.

Got another one to add today (which genuinely made me VERY proud)

Took both DS's to Toddler Church (local mum's and toddlers group) today and for the 1st 20 minutes they have a little 'service' in the church before going down to the hall for juice, biscuits and toys. Part way through the service they each get to have a little drum or shaker and walk round the church singing "marching in the light of God". DS2 doesn't usually go wtih me as he goes to nurseries in the afternoons now, but as it was halfterm I took him.

Anyhow, when they got the box out with the shakers in he walked over to it looked at the Thomas the Tank Engine drum which he LOVES (and another child was about to grab), stopped, pulled out a pretty coloured shaker, walked over and gave it to his little brother and then went back and found something for himself - by that time all of the drums had gone so he only had a 'shaker' but was as good as gold about it. The best thing is I hadn't even ASKED him to get DS2 one, he did it all on his own

Talking of which I must remember to tell DH that one as it had slipped my mind

jangly · 17/02/2005 19:37

Oooooooh!!

roisin · 17/02/2005 19:51

Yesterday ds2 shared his sweets unprompted with ds1 and his mate.
Neither of them let on that they'd just got on and scoffed theirs earlier

My dds never fight or fall out, rarely exchange a cross word, and will play together happily for hours on end ... in fact this afternoon, while dd2 was at a friend's house for tea, dd1 said "I miss dd2, it's no fun without her!" Aw.

And dd2 always offers her sweets/crisps to anyone passing ... (smug, moi?)

Gwenick · 18/02/2005 11:06

my DS's (14 months and 4yrs) didn't get up until 10.05 this morning - which meant I got a fabulous lie in

Beansmum · 18/02/2005 11:11

woman on the bus this morning about ds, 'oh he's gorgeous, he looks just like you'

Gwenick · 18/02/2005 11:36

you cow beansmum . When DS2 was 3 months old took him and his older brother to the local surestart toddler group/weighing session - someone turned round and said "what gorgeous children - are you their childminder"

morningpaper · 18/02/2005 12:22

Miaou: love your comments about dd missing her sis!

I lay next to dd when she woke up this morning and she COVERED MY FACE WITH KISSES!

And she has blown her nose to command since she before she was 1.

DS can perfectly understand and obey instructions in three different languages, is stringing words together since he was 18m old, he rarely cries, sleep well and cleans the table after him, he also sort the the laundry in diferent colours and place it in the washing machine. In his 2 yrs development check he spend the 45min with his tongue hanging out, making silly noises. Refused point blank to interact with the HV. She said she will contact us again in six months time to see if he needs to be tested for his "delay"

So I can said that he is the most intelligent boy on Earth but he's modes enough to hide it!

Chandra · 18/02/2005 12:31

...and has a mother who is unable to conjugate verb correctly while she writes!

colditzmum · 18/02/2005 12:57

My 22 mo ds walked calmly past sweets, crisps and fizzy pop in the supermarket... only to throw a complete paddy about cheese spread!

Gwenick · 18/02/2005 13:03

LOL colditzmum I can relate to that - ours is cheesestrings and grapes

LooneyLaura · 21/02/2005 23:38

Just found this thread and thought I would have a little boast.

My DD in 2 next month and..

Was crawling at 6 months
was walking by 10 months
is v. thoughtful when I'm down and gives me hugs and kisses to cheer me up
does wee's and poo's on the potty as well as the toilet
says please and cheers all the time
takes her dirty clothes and puts them in the washing basket
tidies her toys away before getting out of the bath
rolls her sleeves up before washing her hands
can point to every single part of her body when asked
and is generally the best little girly in the world (apart from when she whinges!)

Oh, the joys of parenthood!!

Surfermum · 21/02/2005 23:47

DD asked to go in her playpen yesterday then closed the gate behind her .

lucy5 · 21/02/2005 23:49

My dd aged 4 told her gran today that she couldnt be as tired as her because she didnt have hard glands. DD has glandular fever. Not really a smug mum but an astonished one.

moondog · 21/02/2005 23:51

Dd is a darling around the house.
She irons, hoovers, and knows exactly how long I like to chill a bottle of wine for. If I'm very tired, she often offers to drive.

Ds is a fantastic cook and regularly mows the lawn for me. He also always puts the rubbish out at night.

Bless 'em.

turquoise · 21/02/2005 23:54

Lol Moondog.
I have no stretchmarks and my boobs couldn't be perkier.

Surfermum · 21/02/2005 23:55

. Stop making me laugh you lot I want to go to bed.

trinityrocks · 22/02/2005 09:49

I have no stretch marks in my 34th week of second pregnancy

My 5 yr old DD can count things to 20, write her own name and Daddy, Mummy, Grandma, Grandad, Nana

She can also read words like POP, DAD and BUM (don't ask) lol

BUT my hubby works in the navy and is never bloody here (still love him tons tho)
AND
My stepsin is being particularly crappy at the mo and Indigestion is the only thing constant in my life right now LOL

Donbean · 22/02/2005 10:03

Smugometer. Love it.

LooneyLaura · 22/02/2005 20:57

Not so much smug about this one, but thought it was funny...

DD (23 months) has discovered the word BOOBS and will put her hand down my top and have a squeeze and say "Boobs, boobs, boobs"
Think DH will have had a hand in teaching her that one (literally!) 'scuse the pun.

Sorry about the double post. Didnt work the first time or so I thought.

expatinscotland · 22/02/2005 21:01

She finally said 'no' properly. She'd just been shaking her head to indicate it (she was 19 months last Saturday). Today, EVERYTHING was 'no'.
