We're looking into DH taking some additional time away from work. DS was born in July so can anyone tell me if the 4 weeks allowed per year would run from July onwards or if it is per calendar year, ie his 4 weeks for this year would run out in December?

I am presuming it is from the date the baby is born, ie July for 1 year but would like to be sure before we request in writing.

I think it depends on the company policy. Hard for a company to administer if all running on the birth of each child iyswim.
At our company it ran the holiday year not the calander year, and at dh company it ran calander year!

Best way to find out is to ask manager or hr department.
