god i feel rough as arse. Hangovers and no sleep do not mix well with kids.

Still, had a great night though, and everyone told me how great i looked. I don't today though, obviously. Blurgh!

Hi All,

Sending hangover recovery vibes in your general direction, Grrrl.

It's f*king freezing here (well - it's not really, but it's certainly not warm any more... ...have to get used to this winter thing and take the DCs into the garden anyway).

Chaotica · 04/10/2008 21:51

I take it back: it's not f*kin freezing when everyone has 5 layers of clothes on. So we did have some fun outside... (then had to come in when the wind got strong enough to lift the playhouse off the ground and carry it a metre or two ).

BTW Lou - I'm glad your DD1 is getting assessed. Although I have to say that she doesn't sound that different to my DD who is a bit younger (2.5) - maybe those months are supposed to make all the difference. The not feeling the cold stuff sounds unusual though (my DD is not very bothered about pain, but she generally is about cold). I think having ASD/sensory processing traits is very common though (a couple of my friends' children have them, and I'm sure I did as a kid) but they may disappear with age. (Most toddlers are odd!) Hope it goes well for you though.

Hi all

Sorry not been on for a bit.

Sorry to here of regression in potty training we are having the same here and DS is 3!!

DD been whinging quite a bit the last few days but she has been constipated she suffers from it a lot but can't work out the culprit this time

Sleep wise DS is always ok (ok probably tempting fate!!) but DD been HELL for the last few days was up for 2hrs with her last night screaming/straining etc.

Don't know whats worse a Lo who has never slept through or a Lo who can sleep through but refuses!!

Cazwa · 04/10/2008 22:49

Hi Lou, read the thread with interest. Good luck with it.

Simpson, how are things with DH? Are you back home yet?

Chaotica, its Fffffreezing here too. Even Stella cried when I put her in the pushchair and started walking asking if we could go in the car instead

Had a lovely day somehow. Ride on the metro, soft play which they both enjoyed, Billy for the first time, hes now not a baby it seems and actually enjoy places like that. He was tryign to have a shouty conversation wiht a toddler today and patting her on the head. Then they both slept and so did I, then had a lush roast chicken dinner with lemon drizzle cake that me and stella made. Must try and remember today when times get hard again.

Best friend just had a baby few days ago and is at the engorged stage tonight, god I dont miss that at all! Also just imagining her up all night tonight. SO pleased its not me!

Chaotica · 04/10/2008 23:04

Hi Simpson - how're you doing? Are you still at your mum's?

Sorry to hear about your DD. DS had bad constipation and ended up on senna syrup and lactulose. He couldn't eat and was really miserable for weeks. (Had bad thrush which probably started it all - has your DD been on antibiotics at all recently?) It only really cleared when he went to Turkey and he ate fruit by the kilo and loads of yogurt...

(On the bright side, potty training is on the up again - I reintroduced non-negotiable visits to the potty so DD can't say 'no' just because she wants to say that for the hell of being a toddler... Seems to be working (no accidents today for the first time this week ).)

simpson · 04/10/2008 23:30

Chaotica - yes still at my mum's but may stay for a night at mine on tuesday and see how DH is.

DD hasn't been on antibiotics at all and was wondering whether to take her to docs as all the straining is making her little bum sore but when she does go (sorry TMI) the poo is normal so don't know what is happening, it just takes AGES for her to push it out!!

Glad to hear your potty training is on the up!! Wees are fine here just the poos that can go a bit tits up!!

Chaotica · 05/10/2008 00:00

Simpson - have you tried (undiluted) fruit juice for DD? That was the first thing my GP suggested (and there's no harm in trying).

LittlePushka · 05/10/2008 00:25

Hello everyone, been lurking on your thread,( have two sons, with almost 18 mths apart, eldest just turned two.)

I ave the opposite problem to Simpson..DS has never had a poo which I could pick up so to speak...(sorryTMI). Feel really daft for asking this but,..is there a point at which very loose poos become more solid like an adult poo?

TattooedGrrrl · 05/10/2008 07:21

touch wood, potty training going well here too. Although it does get a bit tedious emptying the potty what seems like every 5 mins

We're having a new loo and sink put in our utility room this week, so i think i'll get one of those toddler seats and a step in there to make things easier. I hope!

Builders will be in all week- be glad when it's all done. Got my dishwasher on the go- so glad to have one again. My friend is coming to wire up the new cooker aswell today. I reckon by Xmas we should be all spick and span and fancy (ish)

I'm hoping PIL will invite us for Xmas lunch this yr (we always say no) because i've decided it'll be soooo much easier than me doing it, and then waiting for them to do their visit etc. Can just go there for lunch then come home and have the rest of day to ourselves.

Anyone else thinking of Xmas yet? Thinking we may get George a tricycle, not sure about Dyl yet.

TattooedGrrrl · 05/10/2008 07:23

Hi littlepushka- yes there is, but it depends on diet too. DS1s are like a 'real' persons now. DS2 is 11mths, and his definately aren't!

simpson · 05/10/2008 10:24

Chaotica - Will give fruit juice a try!! Have been giving her pureed prunes with apple but it doesn't seem to be helping... Having said that she has been ok this morning so far!!

simpson · 05/10/2008 19:20

Momentous occasion!! Ds said he needed to do a poo, asked for the toilet and did it!!

Chaotica · 05/10/2008 19:27

Well done to your DS Simpson! Hope it continues...

kittykat77 · 05/10/2008 21:04

Wow Simpson. Wish DD could get to that stage. Poo's for us are a particular problem. In fact on the days DD needs to 'go' we tend to have wet pants until she has done the deed!

Having even more battles with the potty. DD has chickenpox, so is even less keen on doing the whole potty think. Have given up by the afternoon on the last 2 days and let her wear a pull up. I guess this must get easier at some point...

LittlePushka · 05/10/2008 22:17

Simpson, prior to the poo request did he ask for potty but too late,...or did he just ask and go?

DS1 does say poo on potty but only after he has actually done one in his pants. (Which is deleighful seeing as I cannot pick it up!)I

simpson · 06/10/2008 11:04

LittlePushka & KittyKat77 - Have been toilet training Ds since July (he refused to even contemplate the potty and went straight to loo), wees were fine straight away but every poo until yesterday has been in pants. He won't even tell me he has done one you just smell it {sad] The last few days he had been saying he needed a poo, I was putting him on toilet he would try but not do anything and then seconds later it was in pants Grrr... But at least he was trying!!

Lets hope today he manages a poo in loo!! He is at playgroup ATM so will see what happens later...

Chaotica - DD not constipated at all yesterday and think the follow on milk I switched her to is the culprit (Hipp organic) Bought two big tubs of it without trying it on DD first then when she didn't like it switched back to cow & gate and just used the follow on milk for porridge etc but still think its having an effect, did not use any at all yesterday and she's been fine!!

LittlePushka · 06/10/2008 12:09

Oh Simpson I am so pleased to hear that story,..(not in a yah boo way IYSWIM). I was wondering ifI had been hasty with the training given the (almost) evry poo in pants like you. (DC, not you!).

Will announce the first three cosecutive potty poos in due course circa 2010!

simpson · 06/10/2008 12:17

LittlePushka - I was feeling EXACTLY the same!! However I wouldn't put it past DS to decide today to go back to doing it in pants!!

Also with your DS's poos, have you tried cutting down on fruit/juice? That might help.

Chaotica · 06/10/2008 12:20

Hi Littlepushka and welcome

And hello, all.

I love this thread sometimes - it makes some problems seem so totally normal I stop getting stressed about them (and sometimes they even half sort themselves out - DD had another trouble-free poo on the potty this morning...) (...I shamelessly reward her with chocolate now ).

Have had to put a makeshift barrier up around the tv to stop DS trying to hug the characters of In the night garden and Balamory...

Must get off the computer and go out while the weather is fine

Chaotica · 06/10/2008 12:21

LOL at the 2010 prediction, littlepushka... I hope not!

simpson · 06/10/2008 13:09

Chaotica - DS was rewarded with 2 love hearts!!

LOL at your DS hugging the TV

LittlePushka · 06/10/2008 13:29

Thanks you Chaotica, nice to be here too! I would bring me boy 500 shares in Cadbury's and a kingsize mars bar borne on a painted elephant if he pooed in the pot!! Am off out into the sun too

Simpson, Ds does not drink juice, but as a vegetarian he is perhaps more likely to be soft. But surely it will shape up sometime?!

Jewelsandgems · 06/10/2008 19:15

Hello girls sorry been ages posting and I really don't know how it's sluipped so long. Have been having a marathon ebayathon [getting rid of all my old work clothes. Surprising how much I am getting for my Hobbs/Jigsaw/Karen Millen/Thomas Pink stuff!]

That and Izzy has started crawling! You remember she was crawling kind of backwards, well now she is full on crawling and climbing and pulling stuff over and banging her head and....well you get the picture [exhausted emoticon]

Good news is the dreamfeed is well and truly over (we never had to do it again) and now she actually sleeps better!

Intersting reading all your potty training updates - sometimes it just seems like one stop forward and 2 back and then for weeks all is good and then - a wet bed or a wee whilst out! Thankfully Freya has been pooing in toilet every time for a good year now so that's ok, but sometimes the odd wee does creep up on us!

Welcome to any newbies

Good evening all....

LittlePushka · 06/10/2008 22:05

Hello Jewelsand Gems, pleased to meet you! My DS2 (7 months)must be on the lap behind Izzy! He is crawling backwards with the odd bunny hop and I am just tonight considering when to drop the dream feed. How did you do it and what age was Izzy?
