Hi All, and evening Cazwa and Jewels...

Hope Billy is OK, Cazwa (although it sounds likely that he has the beginnings of the dreaded chicken pox). Your DCs sound really sweet (I bet all of our children are though, in the right mood ).

I hope we don't scare off the newbies, Jewels. (For anyone who's new: please don't go ) I tend to think that it's just that it's amazingly hard to keep up with a particular thread. Lets face it, it's hard to have 2 DCs under 3 and do anything which is not directly to do with their upkeep. Some days I don't sit down until 11pm (or if I do, I have at least one child climbing all over me), so it's not hard to think that most people can't keep up. (I should check the 'larger families' posters to see whether they actually manage conversations - maybe I can be proved right )

Must stop posting so late as DS has started getting up earlier and earlier... I should sleep!

Chaotica · 25/09/2008 18:22

Evening ladies...

Today at playgroup I was invited to a beauty night and an ann summers party ... ...and an Avon lady just called What has happened to my life?? It's time to form a punk band and start a revolution (although not necessarily in that order) before a midlife mum-life crisis sets in!

Chaotica · 25/09/2008 18:28

On another subject entirely: Connor is talking! (Or, if he was posting, he might say: family is finally understanding me (after weeks of smiling inanely at babble).) He's saying 'hello' and 'bye bye' which is a change after shouting and screaming [proud mummy emoticon]

Interested in this thread?

Then you might like threads about these subjects:

Jewelsandgems · 25/09/2008 19:18

Mmmm chaotica you will be telling us all about your candle party extragaganza next, and how you got drunk and spent 60 quid on total candle crap.

But well done to Connor

Yes, I know I should be on S&B [my local haunt no doubt] but I am out with the pilates girls tomorrow and am oohing and aahing over what to wear. Also, I know they want to get totally drunk and me - having to get up at 6am godforsaken hour - will have to try not get drunk [it's never going to happen emoticon] So, will prob post late saturdat, there'll be lots of typos and sad faces. [or maybe the shock face that also looks a but like someone projective vomiting]

hazeyjane · 25/09/2008 19:59

Hello everyone,

at not keeping up with thread and posting so erratically, but that I was missed!

So is everybody potty training now? I'm still in a denial phase. Well, i ask dd1 if she wants to use the potty, she thows it across the room, dd2 picks it up, puts it on her head, and I tell myself there is nothing wrong with wearing nappies.

Dd1 has had pretty bad asthma, which is horrible, because none of the medication we try seems to have made much of a difference. On the upside, we seem to have sorted out a good bedtime routine (thankyou 'No Cry Sleep Solution'), which makes bedtime about 3 hours shorter than it used to be!

Dd2 had a scary allergic reaction last week (God, we're a healthy bunch), not sure what to, but she was wheezing and her face swelled up, Piriton sorted it out, so i'm carrying it around in my bag all the time now.

Well i will try and skim read the last 100 pages or so, so that i know now you are all getting on.

Everybodies dc's suddenly have names!!!! They are all lovely

Oh and Hello Kittkat, hope you are getting on ok

Chaotica · 25/09/2008 21:42

Jewels - that candle party talk is too close to the bone (Wait! Let me check my diary... )

Hi Hazeyjane - glad to see you back and not glad to hear your DDs are ill. Could the asthma be an allergy as well? (I'm sure you know more about it than me - the low level inhaler seems to have sorted Freya out so what would I know.) And, after cutting out dairy and gluten with Connor because of eczema, I happy to report that he's healthier and happier when he does eat them (and his skin is fine) - so I should probably keep my mouth shut.

Potty training? You could always try cold turkey like we did (I felt like we were at a stalemate). It seems to have worked (doing well, anyway). How old is your DD1?

TattooedGrrrl · 26/09/2008 10:21

CHAOTICA- Lol at the punk band thing. I'm sure i used to be so rock n roll.

Kids are changing fast- Dyl is walking quite well, and is so cheeky and funny now it's amazing. he runs off laughing when he knows you want to blow his nose or change him now too.

George is very challenging at the moment, everything is 'no' or 'why', i feel like whatever i do is wrong (shouting, time out, ignoring him) But the poor chick had nightmares last night, so even though Dyl slept through, i got up about 4 times for him.

Anyway, need to drink my coffee quick and get on with my work. Finishing early to get my tattoo finished today

Hi, I have 2 DDs, 2.9 and 13 mo. I am expecting #3 in April. 3 under 3½!

Am feeling quite anxious now, because the pre-school feel that DD1 needs 1:1 for free play and an assessment. What have I done giving her another sibling to share my time with?

She loves her sister dearly, and I am so glad I am pregnant, but I do worry that if she has a dxable condition, her behaviour may not just be terrible twos, and may continue for some years, which will mean I have 3 even 'younger' children to cope with.

Chaotica · 26/09/2008 18:09

Afternoon all, and Hi Lou and Welcome

DD has just be playing with a girl she met at a playground (a first!) (She is usually the lonesome and/or aloof type, although being so young this isn't surprising.)

Lou - Congrats on your pg. I don't know what your elder DD is suspected of having, but I think having siblings is a good thing. If she is dx'd with something, then I presume it will be good for the younger two to have each other as well - may give you as much time to spend with the elder one than if you only had one other. (A lot of work for you whatever, I would think.) (Not that I know much about this except through a couple of friends of mine who are in a similar boat.)

TattooedGrrrl · 27/09/2008 09:07

Hi Lou,

Try not to worry- you don't know yet if she DOES have a condition, and you have a while yet until your new baby comes.
Welcome anyway!

I'm in work, everyone in today went out last night, and they're either hungover or drunk. Makes a change for me to be the most well rested and cheery one here!

DS1 staying at PIL tonight, and what will i be doing?.....painting kitchen cupboard doors. Woo hoo! Got a night out next friday though- we're celebrating 10yr together, so we're off out with loads of friends we haven't seen in months, years in some cases!!!!

Tattoo not finished yet, my arm is killing me though Still a few hours left to do.

Cazwa · 27/09/2008 21:30

Welcome Lou , good advice from the girls there.

Billy HAS got chickenpox, and really bad, worse than Stella . Had a raging temperature today which took ages to drop.

Im a bad mummy. Even though I knew I'd be up at the crack of dawn today with Billy I managed to get sh*tfaced on a bottle of wine and 2 beers in the house with DH and a couple of friends round. I woke up in the night and had to throw up and then threw up all morning . Had to wake DH up to take over childcare even though he was v sleep deprived. Feeling vaguely normal now thank god.

Oh and what arrived today? A case of wine we ordered week ago that I was promised from DH as a reward for when I finished breastfeeding. Its still sitting by the door unopened, cant bear to look at it.

I MUST have an early night tonight. But I have a kitchen from hell to deal with. (whips herself)

TattooedGrrrl · 28/09/2008 14:05

Poor Billy- Dylan got them much later than George too, and far, far worse.

Having an ok weekend- George with PIL today, and Dylan is asleep in his cot! (This is unheard of during the day!) Been doing DIY, and my friend is coming over later for cheese and wine and olives etc.

OP posts:
simpson · 28/09/2008 18:10

Hi all

Grrrl - cheese, wine and olives yum

Cazwa - sorry to hear that Billy has chickenpox, poor little mite

Lou - welcome and congrats on no.3!!

HazeyJane - sorry to hear that your Dcs have been sick, what a worry for you

Chaotica - Go Connor!! Can't wait for DD's babbles to become mama etc

Jewels - so how drunk did you get?? Hope your night out was good.

Still staying at my mum's although DH came round today but he still has a long way to go but on right track at least. DS got upset saying he wants to go home. Its hard pretending everything is ok. Thank God for wine and nibbles when Dcs are in bed

TattooedGrrrl · 28/09/2008 18:34

Glad things are sounding positive Simpson. I know our situations are prob very different, but DH and i split once for a few months, before we had DCs. I never thought things would work out, they were about as bad as they could be, but we're going strong. I really hope everything goes how you want it to.

Dyl is in bed, George is up but tired. Roll on cheese and wine!! And 2 kinds of olives. Woo hoo!

OP posts:
Jewelsandgems · 28/09/2008 20:04

Evening ladies

Seems we have all been indulging in a tipple of wine of late and surprisingly simpson I did not get as drunk as I thought. Managed to have a great time [3 bottles of peroni] and felt good the next day. Was tired though, did not get in til the early hours.

We had my dad's birthday tea party today and that was great, my dad kept getting all speechless and teary eyed and so we were all a bit like that. They've gone now and with the girls in beds seems really quiet now.

Anyway, strictly just on sorry am adicted....xx

justkeepswimming · 28/09/2008 20:15

hello everyone, lost the thread here a bit.

all ok here tho i have had the worst case of the runs ever known!!
tom (ds1) is fab, entertaining us every day with new things
henry (ds2) is growing up more all the time, sitting up well, trying to pull himself up, not interested in rolling at all, etc.

sleep not too bad, at least 7-5, then henry will normally go back to sleep whilst tom wakes about 6/6.30.

got in-laws here for a few days as dh away, so mil making sure i'm well fed

hello to all, hope billy better soon, and all get a good sleep tonight

mumof2andabit · 28/09/2008 20:19

Hi all I have 2.4 ds and 6month dd and am pregnant!!!! Am bricking it to put it lightly hehehe but am also looking forward to having another beautiful baba although am hating throwing up at work

simpson · 29/09/2008 16:11

jewels - glad your night out was good, am totally addicted to strictly come dancing here too

JKS - glad you are better. Sounds like you were really ill there for a while...

mumof2andabit - congratulations on no. 3 It will be tough at the beginning but you will probably get more "me" time when they can play together

Grrrl- I hope things can be worked out betwenn me and DH, time will tell... How was your olives and wine??!!

Cazwa - How is poor Billy today?

Jewelsandgems · 29/09/2008 16:51

Yes welcome mumof2 and as simpson says, things will be tough for a while but then you will reap the rewards later on.

Reading your post simpson I felt so upset for you and your DCs, about your DS wanting to go home. Must be especially hard on you though and definately hope things carry on improving. As grrrl says, things can get so bad as to it is hard to see how to carry on, but then it does get better and then it is hard to think back to a time when it was bad and think "wow, everything is so much better now".

Well today Freya was in "no" mood and it took me ages to get back from the shops, despite setting of 10 mins earlier today. Freya just would not stay with me, wanted to sit on walls, stand on pavements, anything really as to not walk home. In the end I had to reverse the buggy and go back to grab her and the front wheel lodged against a bump and the wholeP&T (with doubles kit) went straight over. Now it is strange that mind over matter thing but I picked the buggy up with ease, with just one hand and Izzy was fine - happy chewing on her toy banana. But Freya realised that her actions had contributed to this and continued to be the angel daughter all the way home, held my hand on demand, kept dutifully by my side. I was thinking all the way home about how I had managed to lift that buggy up with one hand and wondered if all those stories about people lifting up their cars to get to an injured person etc were actually true!

Off to make dinner....speak soon girls.

Chaotica · 29/09/2008 17:45

Hi All, and welcome mumof2

Not really had time to post for the last couple of days as it was DS's birthday and I've been busy eating cake and having fun. We had a great (and quite chilled out) time - so glad I bought DD a tiny present as well though, it helped ease her through the 'no DD, you have to let Connor play with that for now, that's his present' moments (of which there were quite a few - of course, or she wouldn't be a real 2 year old ). She loved helping to make the cake (and helping to blow out the one candle) though.

Simpson - hope you're doing OK and things are improving.

Grrrl - I bet your tattoo looks great. You'll have to post another picture once it's s done. DP has some, but I don't think I could cope with the pain myself though.

Cazwa - sorry to hear Billy is so sick. I hope he's on the mend soon.

And sorry to hear you're all quaffing wine and beer - I'd better get myself a glass...

Chaotica · 29/09/2008 17:50

BTW Jewels - No!

(You have my sympathy )

Our Freya's latest is 'I don't like X' (insert previously favourite thing) It was driving me mad until I realised that she thinks it's the 'no' answer to 'would you like X?' What she means is she doesn't want it at the moment...

Chaotica · 29/09/2008 21:36

Jewels - 4 hours later, you still have my sympathy ... DD is currently having the mother of all "won't go to bed" tantrums upstairs.

(In the course of the evening, she's said no to everything she actually wanted, had a major poo accident and got stuck in a high chair which is too small even for DS despite me telling her to stop climbing (I was tempted to leave her there, except it was unsafe). I just hope DS is in the mood for sleeping through a thunderstorm...)

BTW I'd just like to add: she was lovely earlier

TattooedGrrrl · 30/09/2008 12:57

What a tedious day. I've just bathed the boys just for something to do. Can't go out as it's raining and waiting for dishwasher and cooker to come.

OP posts:
Jewelsandgems · 30/09/2008 13:15

God chaotica ours are really going for it right now arn't they? Freya had another tantrum on the way home and then layed down on the pavement in a puddle. Well, I was so angry the only thing I could do was walk away so I just walked slowly home and eventually after much screaming she followed me. Honasty, it really tires me out!

Exciting grrrl about your new stuff arriving! I am sure they'll be delivered soon and then you can press all the buttons etc

For those of you with girls aged 2.5, what are you getting then for christmas? Mum and dad have bought a massive wooden swing set thingy, so I am after other good present ideas

I have bodybalance tonight and - horror of horrors - I have not fake tanned for ages. Actually, perhaps I will have to get a new outfit for winter wear, my current one is all tight and flesh-showing and I feel I can only pull it off when looking tanned. hhhumph..

simpson · 30/09/2008 13:45

Hi all

Just got back from shops where I bought DS a Lazy town DVD and Peppa pig (although he doesn't know about that one yet - will "save" it till I need it!!) So he is watching Lazy town now which is at least keeping him entertained while it pisses it down outside!! Tuesdays are hard work as there is no playgroup to tire him out!

DD has wanted to sleep ALL day so far. She got up for lunch at midday ish ate then screamed the place down, rubbing eyes etc, so I have put her back down again and she fell asleep straight away Lets hope this doesn't mean I have a bad night tonight though.

Have got Sex and the City on DVD to watch tonight with glass of wine or three...can't wait!!
