What time does your 4year old go to bed?

My ds is 4.6, and normally goes up at 8pm. However, he always gets tied aroung 2pm, but never goes to sleep and he always wakes up between 7 and 8 (time he goes to bed makes no difference).

So, what time does your 4year old go to bed?

In bed now

He will be asleep within 15 mins, he does wake rather early though, 6 to 6.30, price we pay for quiet evenings

Nagapie · 22/07/2008 18:46

My soon to be 4 yo goes to bed/bath at around 7pm - up at 6:30 am and no sleeps during the day...

jofeb04 · 22/07/2008 18:46

I'm trying to work out if it is worth putting him to bed at 7! It's been one of those days

by 7pm, up around 6.30, no naps

if you are going to put him to bed earlier I'd suggest doing it gradually or it won't work!

posieflump · 22/07/2008 18:54

by 7pm, up 6ish, no naps except occasionally in the car, sometimes conks out on the sofa in front of a disney video but very rarely

cece · 22/07/2008 18:54

8 pm and he is up between 6 am and 7 am usually.

jofeb04 · 22/07/2008 18:56

bed about 7.30
asleep between 8 and 8.30 (she likes to read,, play, chill, wander up there... go to the toilet etc... )

up between 6 and 7

would fall asleep for a nap in the car if out mid afternoon. she can get tired but have tried earlier bedtimes and it doesn't work. later bedtimes just mean she is more likely to have a sleep mid afternoon, resulting in later bedtime. never sleeps in!

8pm usually - but will be later tonight as we're having a BBQ - and it's not even lit yet

jofeb04 · 22/07/2008 19:16

Ds is in bed - reading a book (lol)

He did say he was tied though!

we leave dd's room around 7.40pm - it used to be 7.30pm but we gave her 10 minutes extra for good behaviour - which we can take away if she is playing up. She wakes any time from 6.30am but normally around 7am unless she needs a pee earlier than that.

jofeb04 · 22/07/2008 19:34

Ds is sound asleep, along with dd!

in school time bed is 7.20/7.30 for sleep by 8

pinkteddy · 22/07/2008 19:38

dd 4.10 and usually goes to bed around 7:30. (she is in bed now not asleep yet!). No daytime naps (never does unless we have had some very late nights) and usually wakes about 7:30 am sometimes earlier.

ChazsBarmyArmy · 22/07/2008 20:23

DS1 is 4.11 On school nights its bath at 6.40ish with DS2. DS2 to bed at 7pm then DS1 has a story and a chat before sleep at 7.15-7.30pm. Normally up around 7am.

Holidays I might push it back an hour but DS1 does start to get cranky when he is tired.

mumtoone · 22/07/2008 21:17

DS is 4.9 and goes to bed around 7.30pm and wakes at about 6.30am during the week as I get up then. He doesn't nap during the day.

beckykj · 22/07/2008 21:32

DD is 4 in 6 days and goes up between 7.30 - 8, wakes at 8am. No naps but she would if i let her.

bythepowerofgreyskull · 22/07/2008 21:34

DS1 goes to the bath at 6.30pm and is usually in bed between 7-7.30pm he sleeps for 12 hours

Dottydot · 22/07/2008 21:36

ds2 is 4 and ds1 is 6 and they both go to bed at around 7pm. Once or twice a week it's probably nearer to 7.30pm but they're so knackered if it's later than that that I can sometimes get them to bed without complaint at 6.30pm

bythepowerofgreyskull · 22/07/2008 21:39

dotty I am with you...
yesterday I had just had enough so the boys went in the bath at 6pm and were in bed for 6.30 - DS1 only ever sleeps for 12 hours though so I paid for it next morning him waking an hour early

uberalice · 22/07/2008 21:51

Upstairs for pjs and story at 7.30. Lights out at 8. Sleeps until 8am. Has always been a terrific sleeper.
