Is it worth arranging for school friends to come on playdates in holidays now

Hi
Just want others opinions my ds finishes primary Tuesday.
It is going to be quite emotional as most of the children are moving up to the juniors together but my ds is starting at another school closer to home.

I normally try and arrange for a couple of his friends to come on playdates during holidays but been as though he will be going to a new school and will make new friends would it be silly to still arrange this. Should I just now make it a clean break for him and wait for a fresh start and new friends in september.
I have vowed to keep him in touch with a couple or so of his primary friends but should I just leave it now during the holidays and arrange a meet up later in the year.
Although my ds seems quite chilled about starting this new school where he doesn,t know anyone I do wonder if it won,t hit home until september the change that has happened.

No, don't leave it, why would you want him to lose contact with his old friends? He'll be on his own through the whole summer holidays if you don't let him see his friends, it's not like he's got any at his new school, is it?
