Silly songs to sing to my DD

Does anyone know any good silly songs I can sing my DD (4 months) besides nursery rhymes? Especially ones that are a bit bumpy (for when she's on my knee)!

Thanks!

holding onto wrists, open and close the arms.

Open shut them, open shut them,
don't get in a muddle,
Open shut them, open shut them,
Give yourself a cuddle.

One of the many I sing in my baby yoga classes.

Animal fair - Hillarious in every way!

Down at the animal fair
The birds and beasts were there
The gay baboon by the light of the moon was combing its auburn hair
The monkey fell out of its bunk
And slid down the elephants trunk
The elephant sneezed and fell to its knees
but what became of the monkey, monkey, monkey, monk!

....(insert name) goes round the sun (open hand wide and "twinkle" it like a sun)

......(insert name) goes round the moon (draw picture of moon in the air with hand)

.......(insert name) goes round the chimney pot on a saturday afternoon - weeeeeeee (pat hands on knees then during the weeeee lift baby high in the air, alternatively when they get bigger lift their/your arms high in the air above their head)

sung to the tune of here we go looby lou, here we go looby lie (or whatever that song is!)

dd LOVES this song, and now at 10 months old she pats her own knees and lifts hands high in the air and laughs at the weeee bit, but will insist that i do it too

The following said with a bit of rhythm....

You've got a nose in the middle of your face
You've got two ears, a one and a two
And a mouth! Wibbly wobble woo
And two ears, one here Ding Dong Ding Dong!
And another here - Flip flap flip flap
And to keep all the bits in, is your chinny chin chin!
And most of your body is covered in soft skin.

Except your eyes.
Which I love to gaze into when we're having a conversation like this.
Which brings me back to..
You've got a nose in the middle of your face
And like all the other bits of you,

It's in the perfect place!

Wind the bobbin up. My 2YO DS seems to have picked it up at nursery and I dont know it could someone tell me the real words as Id like to sing it with him but his are a s follows

Wind the bobbin in
Wind the bobbin in
Wind the bobbin in
One two Four
Quack quack quack

And thats it LOL is hysterical as he has no clue what hes singin but always does it.

Also horsey horsey he loves that

fruitstick · 19/07/2008 21:42

I believe it goes as follow, I think the actions are self-evident ...........

Wind the bobbin up
Wind the bobbin up
pull pull
clap clap clap

Wind it back again
Wind it back again
pull pull
clap clap clap

point to the ceiling
point to the floor
point to the window
point to the door

clap your hands together
one two three
put your hands upon your knee

Hurrah for seeline and bouncingturtle - ds1 has been singing wind the bobbin up and when I was one - he sings them at nursery, but I don't know the words. And now I do. Thank you!

Following on from SEA's little monkeys, we do a 2nd verse (2 little monkeys, natch), but it carries on like this:

2 little monkeys jumping on the bed
one fell off and bumped his head
mummy phoned the doctor and the doctor said
do keep those monkeys off the bed

1 little monkey jumping on the bed
he fell off and bumped his head
mummy phoned the doctor and the doctor said
well that's what you get for jumping on the bed.

We have a book and cd called Playtime Rhymes, which I now loathe with a passion as our two insist on listening to it all the time in the car (they are 1.6 and 2.8) - all the way from Glasgow to Portsmouth and back last week. I was almost insane by the time we got home.

DS is particularly keen on a personalised verion of Desperado by the Eagles, as follows:

Mi-ister Ba-aby,
Why don't you come to your senses?
You've got to let your mummy change you
Let your mummy change you
Let your mummy cha-ange you
Before it's too late
etc.

Can't even remember how this started but he loves it. Not so good for bouncing, but good when he is being grumpy. He also likes DP's Louis Armstrong impersonation and various other "versions", including some bounce-friendly hip-hop stuff that I cannot do but DP is good at.

I guess my point is, you can always just make up stuff that you find amusing to sing and he will probably enjoy it if you do.

mazzystar · 19/07/2008 21:58

dd loves

baby star is a funny 'un
with a face like a pickled onion
with a nose like a squashed tomato
and legs like fishbones

midnight express - ours ends in
mummy called the doctor and the doctor said
"why're you calling me, you should have phoned the vet"

I know that one as:
What's your name?
Champagne
What's your number?
Cucumber
Where's your house?
Minnie Mouse
Where's your shop?
LOLLIPOP!

bourbonbiccy · 11/10/2018 19:21

My DS loves the following I'm not sure what it's actually called but

I had a little turtle , his name was tiny Tim
I put him in the bath tub, to see if he could swim
He drank up all the water and ate up all the soap,
And now he's I'll in bed with a bubble in his throat

Bubbles......bubbles.....bubbles......POP

There are action but too hard to explain on here, if you google I'm sure you will find it ... I must admit, I have been known to be doing the dishes singing it lol
