Is it wrong not to go to sports day?

Today is my childrens sports day.

I am not feeling well this morning and have a terrible headache and am feeling sick.

The forecast is rain this afternoon so it may well get called off.

Am I a terrible mother if I don't go to their sports day?

They have'nt said much about it,DD forgot it was sports day today.

Nah. I've never been. Unless your dd is super-sporty and it's her finest hour, then stay at home with lots of paracetamol.

I'd take a couple of paracetemols, grit my teeth and go.

It may seem important to dd if she's the only one with no one cheering her on.

DD and DS are'nt really to keen on PE at all.

They would normally be all excited about most things but did'nt even mention it last night.

I just feel so guilty about not attending.

But then have learnt guilt comes with the job of being a mother.

whether it be mum, dad, grandma, good friend

paracetamol, wrap up, brolly, go

I tried to avoid it but the kids would have been dissapointed so I've had to go.
I've put my foot down with the swimming gala though - no way am I taking 3 year old twins to a swimming pool which they are not allowed into!

I think they prob woul;d be dissapointed if you didnt go, couldn't you jsut go a bit late? Ds1's was earlier this week and I saw him desperately looking for me before he spotted us, and his face lit up when he did see us. It does mean a lot to them.

TBH I would go, all dosed and wrapped up. Or I;d get someone else togo on my behalf to cheer my child along. I know DD would be disappointed if there wasn't someone there for her.
