Heat in baby's room

We've just cometo visit my parents and have realised that we can't get the temperature in the baby's room below 26 degrees. We've opened all available windows etc.

We've put the baby down to sleep in just a nappy and vest. Will she be ok.

She's used to 19 or 20 degrees.

She'll be fine! We've all been through this! In the summer of 2003, ds1's room frequently reached over 30!

Same in our house tonight. Nappy and vest sounds fine. There's not a lot else you can do really! Leave the windows open and the door if you can to get a bit of through breeze. It'll cool down a bit later although prob not to 19 or 20. You must have a lovely, cool house. Ours is boiling!

You can only do you best. We strugle to get below 27-28 at times.

Just a nappy and vest sounds perfect. Perhaps put a sheet over her legs when you go to bed.

What we found is that trying to stop it getting hot in hte first place was a solution. It was hte room that gets all the sun all day - so we closed the curtains through the day to stop the heat getting in. Then open the window in the evening to cool it down further.

Is there a loft hatch you can open? give the heat somewhere to go.

Sorry not to answer last night. DD went into meltdown after 10 hour trip! She WAS fine last night. Thanks for your replies.

when we were in Egypt with dd even a vest was too hot - she was happier sleeping in a cotton sundress (weirdy girl I know)
