4 month old not pooping

My LO has suddenly started having problems pooing. He has recently started teething and I have given him cooled boiled water and water with brown sugar dissolved in it. Both of these have previously worked in an hour or two but this time he has had both and still no poo. It has been 4 days now.

He is formula fed and has been since he was about 10 weeks.

Any advice?

How often can you give a baby the sugar water solution?

Thanks

Have you tried freshly squeezed orange juice? A tiny amount, that just about covers the bottom of bottle, topped up with cooled boiled water (about 50ml).

An alternative is to use prune juice.
