I live a long way from my parents and In laws so am always packing for weekends. I hate that bit where you've gathered a few bits, stand back and look and wonder if you've got everything; so, I created a packing list which has changed and been updated as some of the more 'baby' things have changed, but here's my list;
nappies, nappy bags, wipes, sudocrem, calpol, medised, bubblebath, cotton wool, bath thermometer, ear thermometer, sponge, towel, nightcream, nightlight, monitor, gro-bags, books (bedtime story routine!), pyjamas, muslins (he has a v snotty nose so I use them to protect the sheets), blanket, bibs, vests, t-shirts, socks, trousers, shorts, jumper, coat, sun hat, sun cream, shoes, toothbrush and toothpaste, travel cot, toys, pushchair blanket, cot teddies (for familiarity!)
Phew.
We also got a bigger car
I also pack, bowls, spoons, cups for water and a couple of jars of baby food for the journey - DS will eat them cold and I feed him from the front seat.
We also invested in a portable dvd player to entertain him as he's now 19 months and really not keen on sitting in his car seat for such long periods of time - has been a saviour!
Hope that helps in some way,
