My DS 18mo won't eat a thing!

Hi there, I'm kinda new to these boards and I'm hoping someone has some advice. DS 18mo has not eaten anything in over 3 days, except 2 mouthfuls of yoghurt. We have persisted, but he bats it away. Anything I manage to get in he spits out immediately. He has alawys been finicky with food, and drinks far too much milk i think. He's happy in himself, v.energtic and sleeps pretty well. Will he be ok? how much do other 18mos eat/drink? I'm worried.
Thanks x

Hi there, could he be teething ? My DS completely lost his appetite for about 3-4 days when he was cutting a new tooth.

Welcome to Mumsnet.

well my 17 mo, after eating like a horse for about a week, is now hardly eating anything (unless its biscuits or bananas, but damned if I will let him get away with that!). I am blaming teeth and / or the heat

My DS 22m does this whenever his teeth are playing up. We've just come out of a 3 week period of eating nothing but oranges and a bit of yoghurt. I just let him get on with it, they can live on suprisingly little!

Do you think he is filling up on milk and so, has no appetite for solids?

Don't know how much milk an 18mth old should have, unfortunately, but I'm sure someone will know.

Try cutting down on the milk and drinks, particularly before meals and don't show that you are wound up. Easier said than done!

Second the teething thing - dd eats for Scotland as a rule, but when teething becomes a milk monster.
