How crazy would I get living alone with the DDs, aged 2 and 1?

So, Dh has been offered a place on a training course about 7 hours drive away, and will have to live there for 5 months. It looks like he will be renting a flat over there, and I will be staying in current house with DD1, 2.2 y/o and DD2, 10 months. The prospect of this actually scares me, I don't have family locally and friends are ok but couldn't leave kids with them too much as don't want to bother them, iyswim. I'm afraid I won't be able to manage. I can see myself getting narky and stressed and shouting all the time. I tell myself that millions of women live on their own with dcs, and cope just fine. But... two toddlers...

Actually I just need a kick up the arse and reassuring words from people who have already done this

You will be fine. Once you get into a routine, you will find it easier to be on your own (bizarre as it sounds) than it is when your DH is back (love him lots as I'm sure you do). This is of course a whole different problem!!

Good luck - you may well find you enjoy it!

You will be fine. I had only one child when my dh was away for 6 months. It was ok. He has been away for long periods of time for work after we had number 2 and that was ok too. My friends dh is a seasonal fisherman, he is a way from January till April every year, leaving my friend alone with two toddlers, she is fine.

You will be ok!
