Making an effort

Just looking for some honest opinions because I'm genuinely interested in what other parents think.
My little girl is 9 and sees her dad every other weekend. At the moment, her dad has stopped working and is currently unemployed. He doesn't pay child maintenance at the moment either.
Would I be out of order to ask him, while he's out of work and has more free time, whether he would be willing to help out a bit more with his daughter?
For example, taking her to school in the mornings, picking her up, bringing her back to his for something to eat and spending some time with her before bringing her home.
I'm not saying he has to do this, and I appreciate that he already has her every other weekend. But surely being a parent isn't just about alternate weekends, and if he's currently not working, it could be an opportunity for him to spend more time with his daughter and help with the everyday responsibilities too.
I just want to know whether other mums would think this is a reasonable thing to ask, or whether you think I'm expecting too much because he already has her every other weekend?

I don't think it's an unreasonable ask but given he hasn't jumped at the opportunity to do so by his own volition, you need to manage your expectations here. He will likely say no. Or if he does some of it, he will do a really shit job of it.

You know him better than us - if there is a likelihood he will just let her be late for school, sit her in front of the TV and give her crisps for dinner, not sure I'd bother even trying.

A man who has his child 4 days of the month and pays no maintenance, is a really, really shit dad.

Not unreasonable to ask. You can't force him though.

He isn't exactly winning parenting medals atm.

Definitely ask.
