Nappy rash caused by Pampers...?!

Just thought I'd share this in case it helps someone... We have been using Tesco nappies on DD since she was born (2 months ago). But last week I started using Pampers cuz I bought some on sale. Nearly straight away she developed a nappy rash, which she has never had before! I started using the Tesco ones again and the rash disappeared almost immediately. Could it be a coincidence? Maybe, but I won't try Pampers again as they are much more expensive anyway!

Have always used Pampers and have found them to be ok tbh. Glad your lo's nappy rash cleared up!

Bizarrely I had exactly the opposite experience! Tried out the much cheaper Tesco nappies instead of the usual Pampers and they gave my DTs nappy rash.
I guess all the bums are different.....

my DS1 was also allergic to pampers
I had no clue why, then or now, but heard from another friend that their baby was the same. We used Tesco or Boots own.

BTW, this was 7yrs ago obviously they have something in the manufacturing process that irritates lo's skin, but i assume we are in the absolute minority here.
Keep and eye on lo too, just a word of caution, as my DS1 who started like this is one of those "allergic" people, elastoplast, cows milk protein, some very bizarre stuff like the rubber stuff round childrens' grippy pens.... I won't bore you with heaps of random stuff.
I hope your lo isn't like mine - but I thought it's worth knowing about in the same sentiment as your OP - that just might help someone out.

Yes Penona I guess all babies (and their bums) are different, that's funny that you had the opposite experience!

Gigglewitch - thanks for the info... I wasn't even thinking that DD could possibly be allergic to Pampers, I thought perhaps they just don't absorb as much wee as the (thicker) Tesco ones. We shall see.

I didn't know Boots had their own brand, will check them out too. Babies go through so many nappies, they gotta be cheap!
