3 days pre school for a 4YO?

Is 3 days of pre school enough for a 4 year old? (Autumn birthday!).

She’s at a private nursery pre school (for a few reasons) and currently due to go up to 4 days in December from her current 3.

However I’m debating reducing my working days to 3 days and could only afford to do this if I also reduced her pre school days too down to 3 days.

She does 8-5 on pre school days
on weekends she does swimming football
on days off in week she does other activities park swimming seeing family.

I enjoy being with her but Don’t want her to miss out if she should be at pre school! I also have a one year old and it’s too much working four days a week with both.just the logistics, night wakes, mental load you name it. One YO would also go down to 3 days

we are in London and everyone seems to work full time and do full time pre school either at private nursery or at a school with wrap around. She’s often the oldest on our current day off when I look round the park or high street etc which also makes me think gosh should she be at pre school

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Yes it’s plenty. Hours wise, it’s more or less the same as a child attending a school nursery 9-3 term time only.

My first dc did 3 days preschool and my second did 5 shorter days or mornings. I'd say the 5 days were better as she had the consistency of attending every day and seeing the same staff and children. The preschool was part of the school that she went to in reception and it made the transition seamless.

Agree that there aren't many 4yos around and that makes it difficult to find peers. Have a look at the museum websites and places like Southbank - there are often activities and children's concerts/plays on weekday mornings that I used to get information about and feel sad that dd2 couldn't go to any more as she was at preschool every morning!

Thanks . and yes! The lack of 4YOs being around makes me question whether I’d be doing the wrong thing for HER reducing her days, or whether people in London simply just often have to work 5 days for financial reasons.
