FUNNY ENOUGH since my last post she’s genuinely been a changed child idk what’s happened but I am not complaining 🤣 however, soemthing that really gets on my tits right and I just need to know it’s not just me who feels this way, my daughter is in year 2, she’s not been well since yesterday, no sick or coming out the other end etc but she’s very like tired coughy temperature but she’s eating drinking n going toilet okay, but I don’t understand why some people find it so hard to keep their kids off when there sick, 11 kids got chicken pox once cos someone sent their kid in with it for days and I understand it’s better to get it early but 11 kids???!!! Someone posted their kid had a stomach bug n she was in the very morning after she posted it???? Pls tell me I’m not the only one who gets annoyed by this

I completely agree
My dd has just started reception and has been off 3 separate times with illness so far 4 days covid type illness, 1 day high temp and is currently off school since last Tuesday with a severe strain of HFM and a respiratory virus and not likely to be back for a few days

She is more susceptible to illness and this attendance policy is frankly a joke ! My older daughter is a young adult but kids were kept home mainly until better (not brought in earlier clearly unwell and infectious as parents under pressure to do so).
Tricky with working parents etc but im not sure how it helps their overall whole school attendance figures surely more children are off with the illness even if it is for less days each 🤷‍♀️

Schools do have strict rules around time off after a stomach bug. Chicken Pox is contagious before spots appear.
Tough as parents to decide about keeping DC off due to illness especially with pressure on schools re attendance figures.
This time of year classes are full of coughs and sneezes. Hope your DC feels better soon.

It just stresses me like I could never send my child in unwell like I’d rather her be at home and resting n whatever than knowing there at school uncomfortable, but also I wouldn’t wanna pass it on because then it’s just never ending!! I work and unfortunately for them I will be off to be with my
child, whatever I do at work I can easily catch up on but I’d never get over feeling bad if my child was ill at school without me:(

It winds me up they’ve sent a thing out about kids being in everyday this week an they’ll get put into a raffle but I’d rather miss out and my child be home comfortable, honestly I was so shocked I actually grassed them up to her teacher when I saw her in the morning after she was “in bed with a stomach bug” I just think that’s so unfair like yes a child will get it from wherever but to actually bring your child in when there that ill is so baffling, I ring off work when I have a bad nights sleep imagine being 6 and sick wnd having to sit in an uncomfortable seat

You ring off work when you’ve had a bad night’s sleep? You can’t mean that. That’s a shocking example to set your child.

🤣🤣🤣 yes if the amount of sleep I’ve had makes me feel so ill n disgusting then yes why would I do my work and be unable to complete it to the best of my ability?

Sorry, I meant if I’ve not had enough sleep, I work dealing with invoices and if I’m that exhausted from such little sleep that I feel physically ill what do I say if i accidentally paid multiple invoices wrong? Rather just take the day off and catch up the next day 🤷‍♀️

Right, you’re one of those people who takes the piss and thinks it’s funny.
