So what is the etiquette if you receive a party invitation and you have no idea who it is from??

I found a party invitation in DS's nursery bag tonight - it is addressed to DS but doesn't say whose party it is!!

I have an inkling which child it may be because of the date of the party but I am not sure.

The RSVP is a telephone number and a name (their is no child with that name at nursery so I assume it is the mum's name).

What do I do? Should I ask at nursery tomorrow as I assume the parent asked nursery to put it in DS's bag.

yes ask nursery, how strange!

Well I'd ring the number and ask the mother who the party is for. she may have just forgotten to put her child's name on the invite.

I see nothing embarrassing or awkward in ringing the number and asking who it is - just make a joke of it and it'll be fine...
