My daughter is 1 next week. She hasn’t been a good sleeper at all, but over the past month she has fairly consistently been sleeping from 7pm (ish) and waking up at 5am (ish) then I manage to get her back to sleep for around another hour, waking up for the day between 6am and 7am.
This past week she has suddenly started waking at around 3am every single night. She is really difficult to get back to sleep at this point and then when she does she wakes up at 5am (ish) again and then up for the day between 6am and 7am.
Although even a couple of months ago this still would have been a really good night for us, now she has been basically sleeping through the night the 3am wake up is killing us. I am going back to work next week and really want to know if there’s any way to get her to stop doing this? Or if there’s usually a reason or a regression or something that I don’t know about? Any info / advice would be great!
Important info:
- She falls asleep independently mostly, sometimes we have to pat her bum if she’s upset but mostly she will fall asleep on her own
- When she wakes up at 3am we need to cuddle her or pat her bum a bit as she will not settle otherwise
- We’re not sure if she’s teething a bit. She’s got a couple of symptoms but she doesn’t seem super ‘teethy’ and I can’t see any imminently coming through
- She started nursery 2 days a week this week - however the waking issue started before Nursery
- She eats 3 meals a day, plus breastmilk, plus snacks and plus a bottle of cows milk before bed
- She has around 2 naps a day. 1 usually around 10am and another around 2pm. Often lasting around 45 mins - 1 hour each.
- She hasn’t been having the 2nd afternoon nap at nursery, but she has only been 2 days.
Not sure if I’ve left anything out but any help would be appreciated.
