to be better mom

I am thinking of the ways to be a better mom to my 9 years old girl, I feel like she is moving away from me and getting more and more closer with her friends, even with the moms of her friends, Im bit worried of this condition, I know all children do it, but I wanna try to be better to her, so that she thinks of me more like one of her friends than her mum😘

She has friends but only one Mum. She needs you to be her Mum.

It's normal at her age to want to spend more time with friends and kids often think their friends mums are great - usually because these mums are always nice when they're around and don't have to tell them off, make them brush their teeth & do homework! It doesn't mean she loves you any less, it's just part of growing up and widening their social circle. It means you're doing a good job and she's secure in your relationship enough not to cling to you but to be confident enough to form other relationships.

You could arrange some days out/treats for the two of you to do together if you want to foster a closer relationship. What activities does she like? Even just a shopping and lunch day or a trip to the cinema and dinner, it doesn't matter as long as you're having a giggle together and enjoying each other's company! Why not ask her what she fancies doing?

A loads of love for all your opinions. Now I am relieved that I am so much concerned about her. She likes going swimming and days out including lunch or dinner, whatever meal fancies her somehow 😆. I used to do them whenever possible and I have time. When I have holidays I also take her somewhere she really likes and spend one or two days. What made me sad is, why is she still more into friends and their moms than to me, now I understand it is not because that I have less compasion but it is the science of growing up, may be she is so confident that she never loses me whatever she does and therefore keeps me behind🤔. Anyways, I will try to find more time to spend with her and do more things she adores
