Bath, Bottle, Bed
has anyone got any ideas on what I can add to my list to do before getting my baby asleep he’s only 9 weeks old even for his naps in the day any ideas please or would be appreciated x

Sling, pushchair, Co sleep, feed to sleep have all been things I did

Also, is the bottle expressed milk? Just that may have a bearing.
if formula, just ignore that question

I rocked, sang, fed to sleep, very dark room so no stimulation, drive in the car, walk in the pram, swing (mechanical). Not all at the same time!

At this age, just do anything. Routine doesn't matter until 4-6 months+

Sling, pram, car, anything. Get him to sleep.

put him in a carrier and walk outside. Outside helps almost everything with babies.

From a fellow mum of a baby who doesn't really sleep in the day (4 months)

  1. Ignore all the videos that come up on your social media algorithm.
  1. Pace- lots of pacing! See if you've got a sling library near you for trying different slings out. It took a while for baby to settle into this one, but it does eventually send her to sleep. I went to a dance fit class with her in and she slept through the whole thing. Husband prefers just to hold, but that knackers my back.
  1. Coffee shops. The white noise of the machine worked like magic 😅 i do also like a white noise machine/app, but they only work in conjunction with something else.
  1. Try not to stress and think about wake windows etc- just accept this is your life at the minute 🤣 sounds flippant, but anything was a bonus then.
  1. Try to get out for a walk in nature- a park or a calming green space. Bonus if they have a coffee cart.

Sending support.

Ps. Try not to scream when someone at baby class tells you smugly that their baby sleeps for 12 hours every night.

Saying get him to sleep isn't helpful when you have a baby who will not sleep some days no matter what you do.

With My eldest the only way of getting him to nap in the day was to be on the move - in the car, pushing in pram, in sling. It’s exhausting. Wasn’t forever but without this he’d be awake within 5 mins of trying to nap at home. I researched a lot to find an answer and there wasn’t one!.. some babies are just wired that way.

Does he cry?
