Mums I need help / advice.. My 1 year old caught the diarrhoea and sickness bug last Sunday, has been so poorly with it all week. He was also on anti reflux milk which seemed to be making his tummy worse as I know it’s only meant for them up to 12 months. So I’ve gone cold turkey & just introduced him to cows milk, he seems to be able to tolerate it in the evening before bed but the morning he throws it up! He’s also been eating, still very hungry but then being sick as if he’s over fed. I’ve had him at the walk in centre to check him over today & as expected they sent me home & said it’s “viral” asked him about the sickness & he said it’s a bug it’s what happens. Oh so helpful ! Anyhow any tips, any suggestions or any thoughts on what’s going on would be a huge help as I’m at my wits end! Thanks x

Milk isn't always the best thing for an upset tummy. Dry foods like crackers or toast then something like apple puree, chicken soup.

Yes I’ve tried him with everything dry & he seems to be keeping it down but then he’s whinging and moaning because he wants milk. I Thought it’s maybe a cow milk allergy but then it can’t be as he is able to tolerate some & has been having yoghurts, cheese & butter etc for a while x

Mid stomach bug is not the time to make big dietary changes. He won't suddenly have stopped tolerating his anti reflux milk the second he turned one. Let him have his usual milk, plus boring plain foods like toast, crackers, scrambled egg. He may be fine for a day and then vomit again when he eats more as his stomach will still be irritated and sensitive.
