What should I expect from supervised contact at a contact centre?

We currently have SS involved due to my poor MH and I gave DS to his dad to stay with while I recover. Me and my ex struggle with “healthy” handovers and SS has suggested I see DS in a contact centre so handovers are less stressful and so DS isn’t exposed to confrontation.

I was just wondering if anyone has had any experience with contact centres and what they entail etc as I’m very worried it not being a “natural” environment for me and DS. I am desperate to spend time with him and miss him terribly when not with him, having contact at my own home isn’t advised at the moment due to my poor MH , hence the contact centre suggestion by SS. Am I allowed to take photos of me and DS at the contact centre? Do I need to bring anything ? Can I bring him snacks and gifts?

I would have a chat with the SW involved

You can bring whatever you like or take photos. You may have to pay for the sessions yourself which can be expensive.

Usually it is a bit like a stay and play but not with other people. A room where there are chairs and toys usually rugs and things. You can take things with you if you want.

There are rooms with toys and games, some might have a small outside space. You will be able to take photos and take snacks or even a meal if it's that time of day. You can take him gifts. Is he a baby or older child?
