When did you feel ready to try for a second child?

How did you know you were ready to try for your next child? How much of an age gap between children do you have or did you plan for? I know these things don’t really go according to plan. Did you feel under pressure to try for another child earlier than you would have liked due to your age? I am weighing up pros and cons. I’m 37 with a 20 month old and wanting to wait another while but terrified of waiting too long. Any words of wisdom?

What are you terrified of? A big age gap?

Started trying when my first was 2.5 and got pregnant 3rd cycle so have exact a 3.5 year gap and it is perfect for me. The main reason is my husband work shifts including a lot of nights and weekends. By the time my second got her my first was fully potty trained, out a cot, given up his dummy etc so I had none of the baby stuff left to do when I brought anyone one into the mix. They are now 5 and 2 absolutely adore each other and I enjoy them both so so much
I will add though I had my first at 26 so time wasn’t an issue

Most afraid of missing my window and leaving it too late to have another child.
