Go back for pancakes - they're fab! Though me and DS were a big sticky mess of chocolate sauce and banana after we had pancakes at pearces on wednesday.

Hi,
I know this is an old thread but I am going to Edinburgh for a few days next week with a two year old in tow! I've lots of pals to catch up with after they finish work so looking for a pub (vaguely central) that serves food and allows children between 5-7pm. This is the time when my little boy gets cranky so if there were some fun things for him to do it would be great. Crayons occupy him for about 5 mins so a slide/ playhouse or something would be fantastic! Does anyone have any suggestions?

Pearce's only allows children until 5pm and the brewers fayre ones seem quite far out. The garden at Cafe Cassis looks perfect but food is very fancy and I'm not sure if everyone would have to eat or if people would be able to pop in for a quick drink? Does anyone have any other suggestions?
Thank you

Hi!
Was just browsing the same topic and came across your thread. Edinburgh has actually become very family friendly in last few years so here are some suggestions for you:
*Scran and Scallie in Stockbridge (has a children's area but not 100% sure timings of allowing children in)
*Salisbury Arms (near Cafe Cassis) - no children's area as such but have paper, crayons, games, books and child friendly
*George Sq gardens for Festival - outdoors with lots of tables, bar and food available too (St Andrews Sq has similar but not sure if child friendly?)
*Akva at Fountainbridge - same people as Joseph Pearce. Upstairs area for children.

There are possibly others around city area but these are the only ones springing to mind at the minute!

Enjoy Edinburgh during the Festival!
