Would you find this weird?

My son was late to school the other day (appointment) and told me someone approached him and asked him why he was so late to school, is it just me that finds this weird? Not saying it was anything inappropriate but just seems odd i can’t imagine approaching a child in uniform and asking them why they are late to school, he didn’t look distressed or upset or anything and was 3 minutes walk from the school (could see it from where he was) or is it a perfectly normal thing to do?

Are we talking a stranger? Teacher? People are weird and say weird things all the time. Wouldn't dwell on it.

Stranger this happened outside of his school it wasnt a teacher and he didn’t know them sorry I thought that was clear wouldnt have even have mentioned it if it was a teacher

I can imagine an elderly person seeing a child going into school late and saying “Oh, you’re running a bit late, aren’t you?” Or similar without it meaning much. Honestly, I wouldn’t give it a second thought.

Normal in a village. A bit weirder in a city.

I wouldn’t think anything of it

if your ds is worried maybe it will make hom
get to school on time 😄

Some people are just oddballs its a good lesson for your child to learn and learn to not think to deeply about it. Also children's perception of age can be well off

Yes we are in London so it’s weird to me. DDs school starts at 9 and his school starts at 8.20 so as I’m walking her down to school I often see children from the school who are late. It would never occur to me to approach them and ask them why.
