Baby rising through weight percentiles

So my first child was born in and remains to this day in the 9th percentile for height and weight. Some minor fluctuations between 5th and 12th in the first year, but that seemed quite minor.

My baby was born in the 25th, and fluctuated from 11th to 38th in the first six months and has now exploded to the 84th for weight! Should I be concerned? She has her one year check with the health visitor soon. I think I will ask about it. Did anyone else experience such rapid growth in the second six months?

Yes, mine was on the 20-25th centile until we started solids. He loved food AND the boob so around 9 months he was on the 90th centile 😂 to be fair, his height went up to the 50th centile too but still not in proportion. He was so, so chunky. He then lost a lot of that baby fat when walking.

Still loves food, sleep not so much.

Oh gosh! Maybe we have the same baby! 😅 Thank you for the reassurance!

It sounds like she’s just having a growth spurt. 80th centile is no better or worse than 20th really.

Breast fed or bottle fed? Did you wean onto solid food at 6 months ? Are you and your partner small / medium / large stature (ie average height or above or below?)
