Is it unreasonable to ban Xbox next weekend over not coming off?

My son was told he was allowed on Xbox for an hour. His dad allowed him on longer then decided times up. Now because he didn't come straight of. His dad said he couldn't go back on it next weekend.

My son is only allowed on it at weekends only.
I do think it's unreasonable

Was he at a point in the game that he couldn't really just stop?
Seems unfair that he was allowed extra time but then not given a five minutes warning.

You do have to respect the other parent has the right to set the rule.

i do wish parents understood how save points work in those games. A hard stop can mean losing progress and sometimes that is especially disappointing. When the allowed time is already so limited, the only way for the child to avoid that problem would be to stop very early intentionally and get hardly any playtime.

Nope, not unreasonable. However, you should be on the same page with how long he's allowed on it (parents).

I get if got 5 minutes warning as I know to get to a save point
I usually give that I think that's fair.
Saves frustration.

He went upstairs to tell our son times up
But he went upstairs said oh you started new game then went of instead of telling him to get of then or without telling him it's nearly time.
Next said get of.

I get parents need to be on the same page
