Should after school club cut hot dogs lengthways for reception children?

my son, just 4 has started school. I’m the after school club they serve dinner and today they gave hotdogs (the frankfurter types) in a hotdog bun. When I’m with him I always cut sausages lengthways as I thought they were supposed to be one of the worst choking hazards. Should I be asking the after school
club to be doing the same or is it fine for a 4 year old to eat hotdogs?

Yes they should be cut lengthwise.

You'll get a lot of people saying 'I never did it and my kids are still alive' on here.

I agree they should be . Sausages are in the top three choking hazards and as the children are quite young and the ratios will be high I’d say it’s the safest option. I’d ask to see their risk assessment around choking.
