Changing bag advice-OiOi?

monkeysmama · 29/06/2008 16:35

I have a Quinny changing bag I bought with my pram (a Speedi) but I am not happy with it and want to buy a new one. The one I have is just about big enough for dd's things but the compartments are flimsy and there isn't room for my things to be safe and easily accesible when out & about.

I have seen an OiOi giraffe one I like link here - I am not sure on the toe or messenger bag version - anyone with one have any advice?

Any other suggestions warmly received. List of important things below:-

1 Must look good
2 Must be spacious but not too heavy
3 Must have space for a purse, mobile phone and keys easily accessible

Thank you
MM

I have this style OIOI And I love it. The pattern and colour on the fabric of mine is different (and I paid £80 ) , but essentially the same bag. I love it. They also trade well on ebay. I did not need the bottle holder and the changing mat, and it sold for £15 on ebay plus postage on its own! Still got the bag, 3 years later, and it is in excellent shape!

i find a ruck sack from an out door type shop to be much more practicle tbh, and MUCH cheaper!

also if you already have a mat in your old bag you can use that or else you could normaly oink one up from a 'pound shop'

Monkeysmama, I have that bag, its lovely!

Am a bit of a bag addict, this is my 4th since DD was born 13 months ago (blush) and whilst i agreee in theory with the "use any old big bag" theory, personally i want a proper baby bag. Of the 4 Ive had, this is def. the best to date.I have the tote version and it is a great size, there are 2 carry handles which are a great fit on the shoulder - well for me anyway! There is an outer zipped pocket that i use for my keys, phone and purse.I'm not over keen n messenger style bags in general hence my choice.

I would have saved myself a fortune if i had bought this 13 months ago!!

would suggest the website www.happybags.co.uk or it could be .com not sure, but this is FAB for bags..... Am a little bag addict too (must feed the addiction!) I have a Room Seven bag known as The Magic Rabbit and it is awesome......

Tobermory · 29/06/2008 18:25

MAM, have admired Room seven bags from afar for a while, was on my short list last time, Oilily but was scared off by brightness!

Minstrelsaremarvellous · 29/06/2008 18:34

brightness - yes - loveliness - yes yes yes! I have rather smug personal moments as I get a lot of nice comments on my bag (A teensy weensy bit of bag envy methinks) and above all my daughter LOVES it (well she's only 10mths but she is learning a lot about bags and shoes... clever girl). They are defo not for some - but defo for me!

Tobermory · 29/06/2008 18:42

go on then....show me, which one do you have?

Minstrelsaremarvellous · 30/06/2008 08:11

It's called The Magic rabbit - here it is www.koolkloz.com/catalog.php?item=172&ret=catalog.php%3Ffeatured%3Dyes and I have never got bored of it!

Monkeysmama, I have just ordered one of those bags, the tote version. I wake up excited everyday hoping it will arrive! I will let you know what I think when I get it but I think it got top rated in Practical Parenting magazine. I too love bags and was tempted by the Lin & Leo babybag but it is £125 so went for Oioi so hope I won't regret the decision!

monkeysmama · 01/07/2008 23:10

Eleta, I too was tempted by the L and L bags but they are dear. I read with some of the bags that they can be used for work etc afterwards but I don't want to be worrying in the park mid picnic that the bag might get dirty and not be ok in 6 months for work! Please do let me know what you think. Thank you very much! MM

HI there. It's here! Hurray First impression, I love it! It is a great size for what I want, looks good and seems really strong. There is a fairly deep zip pocket on the outside where I shall keep phone etc.

I agree about the L & L bags, I would be worried about it. I wanted a bag that ooks great but that I wouldn't be afraid to throw arround! And by the time I have finished using it for baby I would prob want another bag anyway as I would no doubt be bored with it.

I think (for a change) I have made a good decision.

Eleta

Thanks for the feedback - I've been waiting to hear what you think. I am going to order mine now.
