Does parenting two young girls get easier as they get older

Feeling low and after advice/perspective. I have 2 DDs, 4 and 6. At school/nursery and around others they are nice, well behaved kids and it’s all rosy. But at home they are a nightmare. Always fighting, arguing and creating so much mess. I’m all for creative play but it’s everything out all the time. Takes me hours to tidy. And then there’s bedtimes. Beyond awful, can take 2 hours as have to stay with them. It’s late and I’m exhausted. I work part time (DH is self employed and works long hours) but never have any time for myself. I was told 2 and 4 are the worst ages but it’s not getting any better. My girls want for nothing, they do clubs and activities etc. They get love and attention but they’re so ungrateful and I feel like a housemaid. does it get better?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I have a three year old and a five year old and I find them Hard Work together in a way they just aren’t when separate.

It’s a shame as mine are actually really lovely children but I find it very hard to enjoy them because we are together ALL the time if you see what I mean!

Ugh not sure that answers your question . My five year old is a nightmare for making a mess, really is, I’ve had to ban dressing up clothes temporarily as I was sick of bits of them turning up all over the house.

I have a 3 year old and she knows she is only allowed one box of toys out at a time. She has to tidy that lot if she wants a different set. I am about to have another child so hopefully that rule will stick.

@Waitingforthetimetopass a lot more carnage comes with two, I shall put it that way!

I have two teenage girls with the same age gap as you OP, and at that age I also found life so hard! It was exhausting. For me, it’s an absolute dream now compared to then and I have a lot of time for myself. Only down side is constant requests for money, and having to pick them up from parties at 11pm 😵‍💫😆
