Help! Extra wide boy shoes

Hi,

I need help finding shoes for my son who’s 7 years old. He has extra wide feet and we have tried BGreater barefoot and Clarks wide fit (G), both were too narrow.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Clarks do an H width in some styles - probably not available in store but could be ordered online. My DS has wide feet - he's a teen now but when younger he had some from Geox that fitted. You may also need to go up a size/ half size to get them wide enough.

Thank you @Lund ! My son refuses to look at school shoes :( and I can’t find anything fun that is extra wide. Geox ones are too narrow as well.

My DS is off the scale width wise and he wears Hobibear shoes very happily.

Next do an extra wide H fit in some styles

Fullofpudding · 03/09/2026 21:56

Next do an extra wide fit as my son used to have them.

@Fullofpudding thank you for the suggestion! It looks like Next has two school shoe styles at the moment so I’ve ordered both! fingers crossed one of them works.

I’m still on the hunt for some extra-wide weekend shoes, though. I’m starting to think they might be a mythical creature! 😂

Start Rite do an H width and my son with wide feet has always got on well with them. And better quality than Clarks IMO.

One of mine has the same h+ width; he’s adult size now but I think when he was younger we’d get it all from Clarks - the school shoes and the trainers / sandals. I have the same kind of feet and I’m afraid I told him that sadly we don’t have much choice and have to suck it up from what’s available!
We did also find a couple of types in sports direct for trainers that worked with experimentation - the kids karrimor trainers or the Nike Revolution trainers seemed to fit.
Now he’s older, Skechers extra wide, fitville, or new balance extra wide (from widefitshoes) are his trainers go to.
