If you’re an adult diagnosed as ND, what were you like as a child?

I have just been reading a thread on here about a mum worried about her child who has ADHD and is prone to violent and aggressive outbursts. I have ND children in my family who are occasionally violent too. If you are an adult with a ND diagnosis, do you remember your childhood and whether you had outbursts? What do you wish the adults had done around you to help you when you were violent? I’m asking because I see a lot of late diagnosed adults post on here, often speaking of the difficulties they faced as a child. But I’ve never heard anyone talking specifically about hurting other children, or their parents. However for those caring for some ND children that is a reality.

I’m late diagnosed with ASD and ADHD. I didn’t have violent outbursts, my traits were pretty obvious as a child looking back but I am quite typical ‘Hugh functioning’ female presentation for both. My meltdowns came out more as anxiety and burnout and then as a teen mental health issues, self harm etc.

My dd age 6 has been referred for assessment for both and she would also be classed as high functioning, is I mainstream school, has friends and is academically good, but does have huge violent outbursts. She masks well in school so this is mainly at home with us, but she struggles a lot with the outbursts and will hurt us and her brother.
