Anyone else hating the newborn phase?

I know this will probably get some hate but I am hoping this is relating to others parents as well!

I have a six week old baby (my third) and I haven’t been hating it more than loving it.
(Its not PND as I have spoken to my gp)
He is so restless, agitated and fussy since birth. GP says he has colic and I’m doing everything right etc but my god when he starts crying now I cry.

I don’t have a village or anyone support wise. I have another child who is 15months who has laryngomalacia and a heart problem and she was never like this despite those issues.

there dad/my partner is useless with this and is barely ever home and doesn’t wake up at night for the feeds.

I think I just needed to rant more than anything anonymously.

If anyone else feels the same or needs to get something off their chests then go for it in the comments cause sometimes we need it!

Im finished with the newborn phase now but I absolutely hated it. All the bubble and nice smell of a newborn and stuff people whimiscally told me about was not the reality. No advice only that it did pass once they got on a bit and I completely understand your point.

Didn’t enjoy it either. I was permanently tired and my dc never slept well.

We’ve got a dog. Ie. Didn’t enjoy the puppy stage for him either, so I’m obviously not cut out for young babies.

I understand both for that, my partner got a puppy for me whilst I was pregnant and it was exhausting and the dog hated me as well guessing he could smell the pregnancy …… no more babies or puppies!

I don't hate the newborn phase but I totally get why people do. Both me and my husband are totally besotted by our little bumble bee but there's no denying it's exhausting.

Oh I hated the newborn phase too! My babies weren’t particularly difficult, their dad was helpful, I just didn’t enjoy it. I did however LOVE every stage after that. Never got the whole ‘ahhh newborn snuggles’ bit that people go on about, I wanted to put them down and go to sleep! Newborns are just relentless and exhausting with very little pay-off. The good news is it doesn’t last forever and it’s worth it for the cool little person that comes out on the other side.

It’s mad as all three kids have been different but my youngest is the most mentally and emotionally exhausting and makes me want my tubes tied!

oh I know, I can’t wait for it all, I love weaning stage and the moving around stage and onwards 🥰
