Is it usual for a seven-year-old to wear cotton crop tops?

DD 7 is showing slight fullness in the chest. I think it’s weight related-which we are gently addressing but I want her to be comfortable. I was thinking about getting her some cotton crop tops before school starts. Is this weird? Will other girls her age be wearing them. I don’t want her to feel embarrassed or like she’s the only one wearing them.

Is a little young but she might not be the only one. You can get pretty cotton vests if that helps. My dd wore those for an extra layer in the winter.

Mine is! I cringe internally about the crop tops, but seems to be very much the thing for my 9yo who has favoured crop tops for the past couple of years

At her age, a vest would draw less attention than a crop top.

She does usually wear a vest but for things like ballet?

Under a leotard, the minute she wears a crop top, the other children will see "bra-like" and it will draw more attention to her chest area. If it's because of weight (DD always went out before up, so I know the issue) I think children notice less than adults do and I'd keep going with addressing any dietary/exercise issues first if that's appropriate.

Loads of girls in my daughter's year 3 class (including her) wore crop tops under their polo shirts, totally normal as far as I can tell.
