Hello everyone, I’m looking for some help..
My 4 month daughter fell out of her bassinet/carrycot before my eyes and fractured her skull, she luckily is a thriving 10 month toddler now but it could have been so so much worse.
For months it was all I could think about and the guilt consumed me as I was certain it was my fault in some way. My husband is an engineer so we re-did the situation using weights and the carrycot just fell off the stand by itself (her weight was far under the limit).
It turns out the carrycot/stand combination is unstable and Silvercross have actually now put on their website it shouldn’t be used for the ‘Cove 1’ (they released the Cove 2 in July ‘26).
Our carrycot was the Silvercross Cove Carrycot and it was on the Dune 2/Reef 2/ Cove Carrycot Stand.
The reason I’m posting this is to partially raise awareness if you have the combination please please get in touch with Silvercross, or equally if you have been in the same horrific situation as me please feel free to reach out as we are trying to get Silvercross to take responsibility for this as they are now no longer responding to us.
