I've never posted so much about on one subject! Hoping for some moral support.
DD (2.6) has been in pants for two full days. She asked for 'big girl pants' and it was a quiet week so we went for it.
Day 1 - held it in for 6 hours - 3 accidents, nothing in potty.
Day 2 - 5 accidents, one poo in potty, much whooping and celebration, very proud of herself.
Is this normal? Gina Ford says they should do something in the potty on day 1.
Yesterday the accidents were closer to being on the potty - just before, or when potty was mentioned. She's very keen, and sits on potty for ages.
Any words of wisdom? Want to perservere and no going back to nappies but worried I've started her before she's ready.

Keep trying, as long as your dd is keen and is not getting disheartened by it all.

If it turns into a battle or upsetting for dd, then go back to the nappies for a couple of weeks and try again.

One small breakthough with first wee on potty this morning. Three accidents since then though!

well done on getting the wee in the potty. Once she gets the hang of hanging on till she's sat down, and then letting go when she's there she'll be well away. As long as she's not stressed out by trying then keep going! It will be worth it in the end

I hope so as am feeling more than a bit despondent at no great progress. Am also bored out of my mind and fretting about all the jobs that need doing!
DH on the other hand, is proving to have the patience of a saint, and is champion potty trainer.

Ok, so I'm close to giving up.
Lots more accidents, one really big wee in the potty at lunchtime.
Now she's getting upset at the mention of the potty, and when asked if she'll tell us when she needs a wee, she says no.
She's asking for a nappy now.
HELP!
