Hi all,
My DH and I would love to have a third child however there are a lot of things to weigh up and would love to hear opinions of others.
I'm 39 and he’s 45 so the biological clock is ticking fast.
Our DS is 4 and our DD is 2 so it would mean 3 children under 5.
Our DS has autism and an EHCP so we have to factor in his additional needs.
logistically days out will been tough. My DS currently needs a lot of one to one attention as he elopes quite often but hoping this will improve as he gets older.
I have a highly stressful job (SLT in a secondary school with a 1.5 hour commute each way).
We live in a 2 bedroom flat in London, it’s on the market and hoping to live in a 3 bedroom house soon but the market it slow.
We feel we have reached a nice balance in our lives with a great social circle with other families and occasionally my parents are happy to babysit so my DH and I can have a date night. I think they would struggle with 3 kids.
I know some of those reasons sound a bit selfish but having a 3rd child is something we talk about everyday and we can’t seem to put it to bed. Would be interested in hearing from others in similar situations, particularly with the age factor. I am also fully aware that if we go ahead and try to conceive, it’ll be quite challenging due to our ages.
Thank you.
