Chicken pox in young siblings

I have a 2 and a half year old with chicken pox and a 3 week old baby without.

I have spoken to 111 and my GP who say they can't offer anything for my 3 week old as she has no symptoms.

Has anyone experienced chicken pox in a baby so young?

My husband has gone back to work and I obviously can't split my time between my children, so it's really hard to minimise contact. My son (2 year old) is on day 4 of chicken pox.

Any advise and experiences are appreciated.

Many thanks!

DD was a week old when DS got chicken pox and she didnt catch them. Midwife said she probably still has some immunity from me. She did catch them when she was around 12months from nursery but they barely affected her

DS caught them from DD when he was 2 weeks old. It was a really mild case and he wasn’t bothered in the least.

Thank you for sharing! Gives me hope! My son is now clear of the pox, just monitoring my now 5 week old. Fingers crossed!

Yep. When my son was 2 he caught the pox and passed it on to his 4 week old sister. She had it really mildly. The MW said she still likely had some immunity from me at that age. Especially as she was breast fed. The doc said she’d probably get it again as she was so young. She’s about to start secondary school and she’s still not had it again, despite being around it multiple times.

DS1 got CP from his brother at a week old, despite me bf. Very mild. Now 21 and never had it again.
